iOS 1.6 default auto select first slot item

I couldn’t see mention of this.
I haven’t noticed it be an issue when I started a new game but I decided to open an old save file to check out some of the new stuff and when I select nothing in my hands it seems to default hold the first item in my slot after doing anything (eg get off my horse, or when I’m trying to chop a tree or whatever, even walking briefly!)

Which is very frustrating as I had the return scepter in that slot I can leave the first slot empty but it just requires some monitoring.

Ah-hah, THAT is why I keep whacking things with my tools when I thought I was holding nothing! I thought I was just being clumsy.

Oh, this explains why my totems and the return scepter suddenly zapped me away several times since the update.

Oooooh, Android has the same issue and finally it makes sense. I'm not the clumsy one that keeps teleporting home from my horse. Hope it'll get patched--
