I have an IRL habit of losing stuff that drives me up the wall, so in the game where I have the equivalent of hammerspace, I almost always carry: watering can, scythe, hoe, axe, pickaxe, weapon, stack of food for healing, fishing pole, pan, and return scepter if I have it, farm warp totem if I don't. So I have to dump most of this if I'm going into the skull cavern - and then because my typical ring/weapon/boot combo is set up for the dangerous mines or volcano dungeon, I also need to swap out those four items, then pick up a stack of bombs and one of staircases. And then I need some triple shot espresso and whichever luck buff food I want for the day.

Basically, I've given up on going into the skull caverns. The setup is just too annoying.
I used to hate skull cavern too. Once I got the forged crusader and bug killer galaxy sword enchantments it’s a breeze

Oh, agreed, crusader makes skull cavern much more palatable. But I don't normally carry a crusader weapon, as I prefer other enchantments when there are no mummies. And the last time I decided to do a run, I couldn't remember which weapon had crusader, and definitely did not remember where I put it. I ended up scrapping that run and haven't been back on that save file.

I mean you sound like the perfect candidate for using a junimo chest, ditch the 6-7 items you have and pick out 5-6 from in the junimo chest that you need. People often skip over the fact that you can get so many of these things, have like 30 anywhere and everywhere on the map

Yes it’s an extended toolbox for me as well. It would be nice if the walnut room would give you a backpack upgrade for perfection or something.
Especially in 1.5-1.6 the backpack is starting to feel a little tight, however I enjoy the aspect of choice and inventory management as well as maintaining a smart chest system to offload everything efficiently, I think stardew is a game of choices and it plays a large part in it

I don't know if I'm exposing myself here but I usually just buy all the wood and stone I need for a building from robin when I build it, it adds a little more cost but I never remember to bring materials otherwise.
I've never done that, mostly because I forget that she sells the stuff. I've even shown up short by only 20 pcs of wood, and stepped out of the shop to cut down a tree, because I forget that she is a source as well as a sink for materials.

I put different skins on each weapon of something sort-of themed to the enchantment. My Infinity Blade bug killer looks like the Insect Head. (I'm easily amused though.) :toothy:

Yes though manipulating calico jack isn't easy for many, especially for anyone not playing 1.6 (the target audience of this post)

And even with high luck it still takes a while to get the 1 million you need for only a single stack
I can attest to that. In my Stardew Expanded save, although I had the best possible daily luck for this day, even with a +13 Luck modifier from food, rings, and Lucky Charm and a "lucky" (har har) triple diamond spin, it took me over 30 minutes to get 500k coins on the Slots!

The Volcano Forge. Costs 10 shards. Sword with sword, dagger with dagger, etc.
Much like changing the look of shoes at a sewing machine.
I guess what I'm asking is which slot takes the weapon whose attributes you wish to retain and which slot takes the weapon whose appearance you wish to clone?

Oh, and I find the Sewing machine to be the most bewildering item in the game.

The Sewing Machine vies with the Forge as the most non-self explanatory thing in the game. It starts off so innocent:

You put some Cloth in the Cloth slot. That's a good start!

But then you put something, anything in the Spool slot and the only hint about what's gonna come out the other end is a shape. Could be: Pants, a Shirt, even occasionally a Hat!

But does the thing that comes out the other end match what you put in? On occasion it kinda matches but most often it's nonsensical. Really you need the SDV Wiki page for this, full stop. It's the Wiki page I keep open the most as I know I've seen the Shirt but I can't for the life of me remember what makes it.

'Cuz it don't make no sense.

Also you can swap out the Cloth spot for your Shirt or Pants and then put in something that can be used as a Dye in the Spool, and do a bit of crude Dyeing without going to Emily's Dye Pots. What can be used as a Dye? Generally something colorful like Salmonberries and Blackberries but again the Wiki is your BFF for this. Sewing Machine Dyeing generally works this way:

Your clothing item will be colored 1/3 the way from it's current color to the Dye color with each run through the Sewing Machine. Some Dyes are apparently more "powerful" than this but apparently all the ones I use hew to this 1/3 guideline. So 3 runs thru with the same Dye and your Shirt or Pants will match the dye color. they you can alter it a but with a single different dye if you like.

FYI I use: Salmonberry Copper Ore Sap Fiber Blackberry Bug Meat or Iridium Ore

Oh, whoops. I guess I forgot about that. I believe the weapon with desired stats on left, desired look on right. Be ready to restart if I got that wrong. (I've never actually done it, just reading the wiki.)

I can never remember which one of the boots or weapon to put where in the sewing machine or the forge, but the nice thing is that it will give you a preview so you'll see if you need to swap them. Worst case scenario, if you are sure you'll mess it up, make it the first thing you do in the day and reset if you got it wrong.

Also, I keep rainbow shells for dyeing clothes. Less fun but takes the mystery out of the process. But I also don't have a large wardrobe.

I'm on mobile, but I'll try it anyway because on mobile, even the bugs are buggy.
Yep. They delay us a year or more and we wind up buggier than anyone lol. I know it’s who CA hired, not himself. But after last time CA said he was going to take charge of it himself so it was better and rolled out sooner, but in the end he gave it to someone else again. Bummer. We still need our 1.5 bugs worked out but didn’t get them. 1.4 work much more smoothly for me.

ETA: my mobile sewing machine works fine you will just need several cloth starting out until you get the hang of it.

I tried it, and apparently the bug which only lets you put one weapon into the forge is a stable bug.
Hmm I don’t know if it will let you but I changed my pretty purple dragon scale boots into ones with mermaid boot stats through the sewing machine. My weapons always light up I wonder if you can change weapon appearance through the sewing machine, worth a shot.
