Let the Farmer's Children Grow Up and Move to Town

Nice idea, and already suggested in one kind or another: https://forums.stardewvalley.net/search/3173163/?q=children+grow&o=date BUT that implies a lot of (potential) changes to think about: https://forums.stardewvalley.net/threads/children-stages.31760/#post-141604
  2. Let the Farmer's Children Grow Up and Move to Town

Ever thought it's kinda creepy how the farmer's kids never grow up? They stay toddlers forever, just running around the house without ever changing. It would be really cool if, after a few in-game years, the kids could grow into adults and move into Pelican Town. Maybe the game could add two...

Got my first baby crit today...

When they grow up, you will see them appearing in some special occasions, that will be a big surprise for you. I am not going to tell where they will be, you can see them walking around somewhere naturally.🥰

Got my first baby crit today...

I wish they stayed in the crawling stage, as I don't like the current final growth stage of the children. They zoom around then zone out just standing and staring at nothing, reminding me of something akin to Children of the Corn. Very creepy. Whereas in the crawling phase, they shuffle around...

1.6 Update What I expect in the next update

SI really want the next update to add new maps and NPCs and also, update the children so they can grow up as teenagers, and also add missions to make them more interesting. I hope this is done in update 1.7 New NPC and new map added🙏👍

    Children update

I like your suggestions, the problem I see with having your kids age is the fact that the NPC's don't age, so if your kids aged past toddlers it would completely destroy the in game balance because none of the NPC's woukd be ageing or getting married and having kids.

    just some ideas

YES YES YES to all of this. I think about these same exact things. I think after a certain point (like year 7-10) there should be like a revamping. Maybe Lewis approaches us about expanding town and this place has somewhere for more of the existing characters to grow (Haley having a job, Penny...

    Children update

I always wanted kids in the game after I heard you could I spent hours of playtime to get them but when I finally got them I was disappointed in there interactivity and just them in general so adding all of this to them would make such a cool experience and make the game (in my opinion) more...
  9. Question about Children and events involving them

I haven’t posted on forums like this so sorry if I incorrectly use/don’t use functions 😅 Edit: I’m not trying to get two children of the same gender, just wondering how it would effect the order you get them in—though ig given they never actually grow up it doesnt matter which is first cause you...
  10. just some ideas

I want the villagers to be more fleshed out. I hate it when they dont do anything. they feel like robots. I want them to interact with eachother and have more interesting personalities like maru. Love her, but she needs to be fleshed out more. ex way more fleshed out dialogue. I also want the...

    Children actually grows up

Aging and growing up of children is suggested and discussed many times. And I really would like to see that. Anyway I think children interests should not be set than be random or depending on the spouse interests. Setting interests sounds really like having a tool. Also their help should be...

This is a game that defy logic so i dont get the point

    Children actually grows up

I agree with this sentiment, but if they have the capability of growing to adulthood or even get to their teens, then the other villagers might have to age, possibly killing the older ones. But having the children grow just enough to help, I think it's a great idea.

    Children actually grows up

...useless now. Sure you can put hats on them , which Is game breaking features but , to the actual game they have no purpose. SOLUTION children grow to up to have different uses like help with collecting forgings, keep animals in check , repair things, etc. Each spouse has different types of...
  15. Children stages

Yeah this. Cause IRL there is so much death and loss of loved ones. Lots of pain and suffering and hurting bleeding hearts. Many of us come here to escape the sadnesses that are reality. I know CA did a great job with irl scenarios happing in Stardew, like Shane, Pam, Kent, Sebastian, George...

    Children stages

Absolutely agree, that being said, it would be nice to have some updated sprites for them, they feel almost alien (I'd rather have the strange capsule alien as a kid)

    Children stages

...already many times. But it implies a LOT of things to think about: should everybody age? Do older villagers die then?? When the own children grow up what do they do than? Leave the town someday? If not what happens? Get they own houses?? When you play duzen of years will you still get...

    Children stages

😔🙏please add more stages to children age would probably be weird but i dont want them to stay a toddler forever or at least be looking like a young child like vincent would be good and more as if if they were a teen they’d probably have stages like not wanting to be with family or an attitude i...

    On marriage

This absolutely, it's intended that they're all around that 20-25 range with a couple (notably shane, elliot, harvey, leah, emily) being a bit older, maybe by 5 or 10 years Elliot is obviously independent and has set up his more secluded life on the beach, he has at least the roots to a career...

    On marriage

Additionally, Sebastian, Sam, and Maru each have full-time jobs. Maru had to get a nursing degree to have hers (and Sebastian makes remarks that suggest they're close in age if he and the farmer have two children). Alex works part time and mentions his past position on his high school gridball...
