Question about Fishing on iPad

I've been practicing a lot and cannot figure out how control the fishing once I have a fish on the line. I'm using the training rod (I'm a total beginner) and am really good at casting, but cannot figure out where the "reel-in" button is on the iPad. If someone could post a screenshot and indicate where I am supposed to be tapping, it would be greatly appreciated! The only time I catch a fish is when I don't have to tap at all, once the fish is on the line. I'm a novice to gaming in general, just so you know. Thanks!

Are you using tap to move or virtual buttons?

on tap to move, you can tap anywhere (except the red cross which will end the mini game and release the fish). Every time you tap, you generate an impulse upwards. When you don’t tap, the bar moves back down. To keep the bar in a position, you can vary the rhythm of tapping. It takes some practice to get it right.
