In my new save to try out the Meadowlands farm I decided with some trepidation to marry Shane, since he loves chickens. Today was the Flower Festival, and it's the first time I've been able to dance with my intended in the first year! It's very convenient that Shane is easily found, has a birthday in Spring, and likes eggs. (In my other saves I've married Elliott twice and am romancing Leah once.)

Supposedly Shane and Haley are the easiest to romance in spring of year 1 because of their birthdays and preferred gifts -- Shane loves beer and is literally in the saloon every night, so the only cap is the two gifts per day. :sweat: Haley is the only villager I've gotten to the dance, and it's usually a close-run thing.

Year 2 is almost over, and Farmer Ray has made quite a bit of progress. All the tools have reached Gold status, the coop and barn are fully upgraded, and the farmhouse has been expanded to include a cellar and a few extra rooms. Four out of five skills are at Level 10, and thanks to a lucky SCD, there’s even a movie theater. Ray has already taken some of the girls there and reached 10 hearts with almost all of them; only Penny is still holding out (she’s probably just smarter than the others and sees right through Ray’s strategy...). Willy's boat is still missing the iridium, but Grandpa is coming soon, and then that problem should be solved too. Ray has discovered his passion for trees and turned part of his sandy areas into a tree nursery. Unfortunately, the Deluxe Retaining Soil is still missing for a flower garden...

Year 3 has begun, Ray has made Grandpa proud, and all four candles are lit 😊 Thanks to the statue, Willy’s boat is now fixed, so Ray will probably be taking a little trip soon... He hasn’t been such a good boy lately, a little too active with the girls. He punched Leah’s ex, made out with Abby in the mines, and kissed Haley in the darkroom. And all that in the same week. Only Penny wasn’t so thrilled when he just wanted to take a bath at the bathhouse; she cried like a little girl (from a woman’s perspective, I can understand her reaction, but it seems she spends too much time with the kids after all...) Somehow, though, he felt guilty afterward and commissioned the new house for Pam and Penny from Robin. Maybe that will reconcile the two of them a little. Hopefully Evelyn’s quest for the coffee maker will come up soon; Ray has already planted wild seeds so he can harvest enough leeks if needed. For the flower dance, he’ll probably end up taking Maru out this time—she’s still his secret favorite after her 10-heart event... We’ll see.
The Trash Bear was kind to him this time: Largemouth Bass, Horseradish, Dish of the Sea, and a Pink Cake... Simple things, and now everything is so nice and clean. Oh, if Lewis only knew—he couldn’t possibly sponsor that many trophies 😄

Haven't been able to play much these last few days. First day of Desert Festival of year 5. Got down past floor 200 and took a bunch of calico statues on the way, resulting in an Egg rating of 66. Found 3 Auto-petters too.:gasp: And got out in time to buy the magic rock candy from Jas.

Total earnings on the farm still just above 19 million, but the full stacks of stuff I just haven't got around to sell would more than double the total earnings. Ostrich 9, Noveno, has hatched and the 10th is in the incubator.

Still haven't been able to make myself spend the hours of failing to beat the colored crystals game, and still haven't paid the Joja parrot. I guess I should pay. Then I could make a few coops with golden chickens.

Realized I'd missed starting a new cycle of wine on Ginger Island by several days. Expanded the starfruit fields. 10th Ostrich hatched, and 9th got a cracker before she got moved to the ostrich barn. Ordered yet another fish pond, and will need to make a few treasure totems to look for more crackers next time the spirits are very happy.
Forgot that it was Sunday, so I didn't go to trade for more staircases. Lots of jade, and just 220 staircases.

Still haven't paid the Joja parrot. Have prioritized making preserve jars for the pickling shed, so I lack the wood to build a coop. With no new coop, I see little reason to have access to golden chickens.

Final Qi quest of year 6.jpg


My final Qi quest of year 6 of my main 1.6 save. How fitting given my status as a regular Stardew Valley IRL amateur home cook. With 1.7 on the distant horizon, I think this might even be my last week altogether so I don't feel psychologically self-compelled to leave it mid-year like my first file when 1.6 first launched. I think if I do play anymore SV between the end of year 6 and the launch of 1.7, it will be on other farms with other self-induced challenges.

Speaking of cooking, I'm planning to work on the Stir Fry sometime this upcoming weekend. I'll update the cooking thread when I get to it.

Also learned that Santa will trade a mystery box for a serving of milk and cookies if they're both left out for him. Haven't tested multiple of each yet. Might try it in my future saves.

Yesterday, I found a batch of starfruit wines in a chest. They were waiting to be aged in the cellar while the current batch was processing. I sold them to Pierre and it allowed my farmer to get more than 10 million gold. I bought the golden clock.

Today, my farmer woke up with all the perfection messages and went to the summit to a lovely time with his wife.

Another farm brought to perfection, time to move to the next one.
