NPC gift confirmation popup

I seriously **hate** when I accidentally gift npcs an item just because I'm holding it. I was trying to load up the crab pots at the lake, but Leah was standing in front of one of them, and I accidentally gifted it to her instead of putting it in the pot. There should be a confirmation popup asking if I want to gift an NPC. Please fix this

You're not alone. :-)
I think there some similar suggestions already in the forum. Try the search in the upper right...

I would not like this sort of thing. It is simple enough to equip a tool/weapon or an empty inventory spot. Or make sure that what you carry is not something you mind giving away. I think requiring a confirmation should be kept for more impactful things like whether you want to delete an entire save file.

Easy way: it could be optional.

one time i accidentally gave my only diamond away so I just restarted the day lol

I respect your opinion, but i wouldn't like it, as long as it stays optional is ok though, maybe i lost a gift sometime, but it would bother me to get a popup everytime you give a gift, specially when you decided to give multiple gifts the same day.

I think you get to a point on the game as well that none item is really that restrictive, you can just gather another relatively easy.
