she wants to serve me supper at 1900 i think. so i went to the mountain lake by the bridge. i caught 5 carp, 3 bullheads, and 3 chup. broken glasses, trash and green algae. do i have to use the bamboo pole? i have never been able to catch anything on it. maybe the carp because sometimes i don't have to hit the key because the fish indicator stays at the bottom. canceled the day. should i go without the fish?

Jodi's request is open-ended so you can finish it on whichever day you get the Bass and arrive by 1900. But yeah, you can Fish in any place on the map and not see an in-season Fish for a day or two, just random Luck. Like when you need a Flounder for Seafoam Pudding and all you get is Sardines, Harring, and Seaweed. Bad Luck all around.

i switched to bamboo pole and i got 5 carp, 2 bullhead, 2 chub, 4 green algae, 1 joja cola, 1 trash, and 6 unknown that moved too much to catch. i just got to fishing level 3. i am cancelling today again. i need to water my crops before fishing so i will do that first. the last time i had a bigmouth bass is from the piglady to give it to the community center. frustrating...
well, i just figured out how to put the fishing line out more. just hold the key ih and the green indicator goes in and out. that was good. but i forgot to go to the spring dance. dang it. and i wanted to by the scare crow and dance with Emily.

I waited more than a year to get back to Jodi with her fish. Don't worry about it. She doesn't care what day it is when you show up with it - or even if you never do. (I've never given Lewis his shorts back, for example, and he hasn't complained.)

I had this same issue when I started playing. After fishing level 5, the training rod doesn't benefit you anymore. Don't worry if it takes a while to get there.

The largemouth bass indeed cannot be caught with the training rod, you'll have to switch to the bamboo rod for that one. The wiki page about the training rod has a full list of what fish it can catch. Casting your bobber further away from shore should increase the chances of getting one.

Also, yes, sometimes you'll just get unlucky and not see one of a specific fish, or perhaps some of the ones you couldn't catch were largemouths. No worries, you can keep increasing your fishing level slowly and steadily, Jodi will wait as long as you need for that largemouth.

Fishing rod won’t change anything, I would reccomend using a higher teir fishing rod as then you can use bait to get more fish faster.

the way to cast far Is you need to release the fishing rod when the green fills the whole bar, that will cast as far as your fishing level allows.

Ah my mistake for some reason I had it in my head that they were downgrading instead of upgrading rods and didn’t even think about training rods
