Lava eats my journal scrap!

Like title. I found a journal scrap but it falls in lava before I could catch it. I found the next, but now I have a missing note... EXACTLY the one with the location of the last golden nut and the ostrich egg
What can I do? I'm playing in the switch, so, please no things like "do this and that with the code".

Can you restart the day? That's the simpleist way I can think of.

Otherwise, according to the wiki page, if you haven't 'activated' a scrap you might be able to find it again, although you've got the next one and it says they're found in order, so I'm uncertain. The solutions are listed too, you can try digging at the one you're missing - I'm not sure if you have to have the scrap for the reward to be there but it's worth a try. Losing stuff in the lava sucks.

I noticed I missed one days later - when I had found the next. Now I'm upgrading the hoe, I'll dig the area. I tryed to fish all the day (restarting the day 5 or 6 times) in the gourmet's den, usually is a good point to found scraps, but nothing...

If it is not in your collection, you can still find it again. Notes aren't always found in order anyway. Just keep plugging away. Similar can happen when near water.

They typically are, but you should still be able to find any scraps not previously found.

as long as you don’t read the note you’ll be able to find it again, it’s simply how the note type things in the game work. You can also still get the ostrich egg regardless, I don’t remember any of the journal scraps being required for anything, more of a tips and tricks sort of thing.

It seems the lava lurker ate the journal scrap after it fell in the lava, and then drop it (with a nice dragon tooth, too!)!

No, you can't find the 3 golden nuts (and pearl and ostrich egg) without the journal scraps. You can dig in the right place and you don't find anything until you have the scrap.

Yes I found this while getting highly frustrated at Ginger Island early on and I fell back to perusing the wiki to make it feel like I was getting somewhere. Dig in the hidden spots and nothing. So I had to grind for the Journal Scraps just to get my stinkin' racing bird egg.

But don't you worry, the game and the Wiki had the last laugh!

Flightless birds don't care about being dainty or delicate and the fatbutt oversized Ostrich Egg doesn't fit into the Incubator, you need a special one. And I ain't got that yet.

No, you can't find the 3 golden nuts (and pearl and ostrich egg) without the journal scraps. You can dig in the right place and you don't find anything until you have the scrap.

Well the pearl isn’t needed and you can get the egg elsewhere in volcano chests but yeah the walnuts that come with them are required. Thanks for the reminder

Yeah, Ostriches are too big to fit on the coop so they need an incubator in the barn . And that is a great emoji.
