Issue Game just freezes and crashes at "Loading..." after the character scene. Can't play at all.

Do you mean after creating a character? Both FeTK and tool upgrade delivery service are incompatible with mail framework mod, may want to start with those. I recommend https://smapi.io/mods to see if mods are still up to date and usable.
