Lost a golden hoe

I can't find my golden hoe anywhere! It's not in my chests or fridges, or the smith.
I've been looking for almost a whole season but can't find it.
I read somewhere to contact the support forum if it was lost. Is this the right place?

There's a lost& found box in the mayor's house and the item recovery service at the adventurers guild. Have you checked there?

Have you checked at clints? You could have upgraded and forgot it there, do you have any random chests lying around the map? The lost and found/item recovery service?

Good pointers, thank you! Unfortunately, no luck there. The menu with Marion only suggests items to buy, is there somewhere else I should be looking for the item recovery service?

Item recovery service is only available when there are items to recover.

What system are you playing on?
If it's PC, there are mods that connect all chests which makes it easier to check them all from one place.

If it's PC or mobile, you could also upload the save file to your post and someone could help you look. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes notices things we overlook.

Anything but mobile you could start multiplayer (splitscreen at home if you have a second controller or online with a friend or someone from the forums) and use the second characters tools.

Actually, we figured out that you just have to have the tool you want to upgrade first in line in your inventory. (You don't even need to put your other copy of the tool down in a chest somewhere.) Since OP is missing their hoe entirely, they shouldn't have any problem.

Ah, that’s handy, I’ve always had problems with this but it must be because of the way the game prioritizes the inventory when it selects tools

If it still gives you trouble when holding both, put the tool that you don't need to upgrade into a chest. That should definitely do it.
