It is an pseudo in depth look at how to make the most possible money in an optimized environment, not accounting for set up costs of materials or time, solely what will make you the most money, accounting for irl and in game time and the best for each.
*Note none of this is recommended, it is super mind numbing, time consuming, and soul crushing to put it lightly*
Thanks for reading:
The absolute best way to earn money depends on stage in the game, what you are measuring in, and restrictions you have.
For the large majority of the game wine will be the main money maker, any sort of processing will result in great money.
Truffles and crystalariums usually come later but will be supplements for most players.
The absolute best though? This has big spoilers and most players won't care for this, if you like massive money though and reasoning behind it, read on.
This also will not really cover set up, no matter what you do, it's going to take a while.
there are two overarching metrics, real life time (irl time), and in game time (ig time). This dictates the main measure of how you can calculate money made. Something that is great for ig time may not be amazing with irl time.
We'll look at in game time first
Per singular tile it would be the statue of true perfection. Since you can only get one of those legit though and the whole point would be expandability that would go to the Statue of endless fortune, making about 700-900g per day on average.
Then you reach the next arbitrary limit, time. Since we wish to expand exponentially, there are two main objects in front of that; time and space. since the map can hold about 27000 accessible machines and we can only reasonably harvest 4000-5000 machines in a day, space isn't the issue just yet.
At this point, we cannot even measure machines by how much money they make per day but instead per harvest per ig unit of time, we want to be harvesting something that makes the most possible money but that takes the least amount of time. Starfruit wine seems amazing, 3150 gold per week. It's problem is the amount of interaction you need to partake in vs. the amount of time you have. harvesting, planting, buying, then finally kegging. The overall time cost means that it takes much more time than something that makes less money but takes less time.
Our ultimate candidate is crystalariums, while it makes less money per day(<200), it makes a good amount per harvest (975 with Gem). Since we will be constantly harvesting because of our massive amount of crystalariums, it won't matter that the individual crystalarium takes longer to make money.
We can harvest about 4500 machines a day and crystalariums take 5 days to refabricate(?) a diamond we need about 22500 crystalariums. This is nearing the limit of space on the map which is about 18000 machines off farm and 15000 on farm. With this amount of crystalariums though you can be constantly harvesting them dawn to dusk and once you reach the end of your crystalariums, the next batch are regenerated already.
Finally, we reach the max of our final limit, the amount of time we can actively do tasks before they are replaced by the cause of the tasks itself.
Now, supplements. things that take NO time at all (I'll touch up a lot on these later). There aren't too many of these in the game and most revolve around the same thing, animals.
Most animals can be near perfectly automated with a heater, autograbber, autofeeder, and autopetter. They require no maintenance and only two things, filling silos and harvesting goods (only needed once every 25 years for most animals per autofeeder.)
Since we can only harvest ~22500 crystalariums a cycle, and can have 18000 off-farm (more likely 16000 as keeping the harvesting ergonomic is better. space isn't the problem, time is), that means we only need 4500(6500 accounting for smooth harvesting design) on the farm itself. we can have about 1970 of them in cabins and the main house we have practically the whole farm for farm buildings and animals*.
The best animal by far is the Golden Chicken, any other animal besides pigs will have varying degrees of success and pigs are completely worthless. You can pack buildings together to have more space by blocking the door of a building with another. You only need to do this every -insert very long time- proportionate to the amount of auto petters you have. You can probably fit about 170 coops like this on the standard farm, I personally have 90 though also have 25 sheds and about 10 more buildings and none of mine are packed together.
You will also need about 7 silos which you refill every single day, buying hay is tedious but takes near no time (an inventory every 25 in game minutes when optimized)
The golden chickens make about 1109g a chicken a day with max hearts, hay feeding, and coopmaster benefits, since they also require a piece of hay it's a profit of 1059g per day per chicken.
This makes another ~240 million a year (including hay costs) which is pretty respectable. especially when added to the ~490 mil you make from crystalariums.
The next main factor is irl time.
When only factoring this, a lot more things become influential, including the power of your device, etc.
The only real option for this is animals when wanting massive dollars. you will need to optimize refilling silos to animal density and also have all coops accessible to save time at robins. You can fit about 110 coops on the farm while having them all accessible and having enough silos to last a week per harvest.
I haven't been able to really test the optimal silo to sleep time to profit ratio perfectly though it's about 80 coops/20+ silos. With this setup you make about 100,000g per irl second, much faster than the maybe 7000g you make with the optimal ig time g setup.
I personally use this setup to make massive amounts of cash though it takes forever, hundreds of hours just setting up coops and all the golden chickens and more hundreds of hours sleeping constantly. Not to include the pure amount of sc runs/joja for autopetters and perfection merely being a stepping stone. My save so far has taken many hundreds of hours in planning, calculations, gameplay, resets, etc. I definitely do not recommend this to anyone else, the sleeping especially is mind numbing.
It is about 15-17x faster at making money than harvesting crystalariums with optimized chicken farm though. You do constantly skip days, still 100 million a year for only 1/30 the time of the last setup.
*You can keep machines in the buildings with the animals though due to their hitboxes you harvest at only 45% the time efficiency of regular harvesting so it's better to use cabins and sheds for the remaining crystalariums.
And that's it, a bit of an in-depth guide to massive money making at it's core. I do not recommend any of this as I have done all of it myself and while not regretting it wouldn't do it again for anything.
These are the best ways to make money (as far as I can tell) per in game time and irl time.
Hope you enjoyed,
