Question about Pigs and Truffles

Long time player here across multiple platforms, recently have gotten back into Stardew again and I’ve been noticing an odd behavior with my Pigs.

They don’t seem to be producing Truffles while I’m visiting Ginger Island. For reference, I own four Pigs among my other Barn/Coop animals(playing on Steam 1.5.6 Hotfix #3, no mods), and so at the end of the day I would expect to see 4+ Truffles following the spawn function laid out on the wiki. This holds true if I stay anywhere in the Valley for the day. I regularly come home to find 5-8 Truffles(the Pigs’ Happiness isn’t maxed yet), but if I spend the majority of my day at Ginger Island I return to find 1-3 Truffles instead.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior? A brief look around the Bug Forums didn’t produce any topics concerning this issue or anything like it. Is it intended functionality that Pigs fail to produce while the Player is visiting Ginger Island? Let me know what you think. I’ll type up a bug report if this issue isn’t intended. I have not seen this behavior myself.

Though to be honest, I'm not sure how much time is "majority of my day". For most days my daily chores on the farm keeps me busy until about noon before I go off to do other things, but then I'll be off to somewhere... and on days when that somewhere is Ginger Island, I'm return sceptering home at like midnight in order to collect truffles before bed and still get plenty typically. That's 12 hours of my available 20 on Ginger Island, but that still leaves 6 hours in the morning for the pigs to have fun.

I play on Xbox and yes I've noticed that with my singular pig on my perfection run I often time am grinding the Volcano for supplies and when I come home it seems like no truffles are there. At first I thought I just wasn't seeing them but no none there

I had noticed the same thing and thought "ah ur just being silly its not like that u must have picked em up already" but I tested this again after I saw ur thread...Yes it happens, no truffles if u don't visit ur pigs they get truffle shy and grumpy if u stay away to long.
