Artifact spots spawning and ginger island

hello.

Like it would seem many others and for good reasons I am struggling to get a second snake vertebrea which only spawns in artifact spots on the western area of the island. The main issue is to actually get artifact spots to appear on that map which is rare as I seem to only get on average 1 spawn per in-game week.

So I came across a topic which I believe is now a few years old (could be wrong) which discussed a potential way of increasing the artifact spots spawn rate on the west side of the island by flooring the rest of the island thereby preventing any worms to spawn anywhere but where you want them to spawn.

So I did that. Floored the entire island hoping I'd see a difference, but I'm honestly not sure if it helps at all. Perhaps it does, as I did get two worms spawning in a single week. Granted, I've only been trying this for two in-game weeks so far. So perhaps I've just been unlucky and/or impatient.

My question would be if anyone who knows the technicalities behind the worm spawning mechanic would be able to tell me if this actually increases my chances or if I just floored the island for no reason. Because as I stated so far I'm unable to tell if this actually makes a difference. The flooring is kind of ugly, too. So if someone told me that it doesn't actually help I'd probably just remove it.

Thanks. -Deffy

Hey just to inform you, the flooring method only blocks the artifact spot from spawning, it doesn't affect anything else, artifact spots are based purely on game seed on when where and what they'll spawn, however if you get an artifact spot that doesn't drop the vertebra you can quit and wait a day to try again as it'll shuffle the drop, but this only works if it stays there's a chart on the wiki I believe with its chance of staying overnight each weekday

For some reasons, on Ginger Island, the artifact spot content does change on the same day too, not sure what the condition is for them.
That can also maximize your chance of getting a rare artifact a bit.

Did some same day resetting shenanigans and experimentation:

On Ginger Island only, the results of artifact spots are partially based on how many tiles you've hoed. So you can change it by resetting the day, hoeing a few tiles, and then trying again. This removes the risk of the artifact spot disappearing the next day.

Just to be clear, this result is partially based (ie: can be changed) on any hoed tiles, not just the Artifact Spots? Apologies if this was asked already (and prob by me...).
