What farm buildings are useful in first year or can help with the CC?

You need both a Coop and Barn for the CC Bundles, no other Farm Buildings are required. However if you are intending on filling up that Coop and Barn after you get the needed animals, you really should get a Silo first so you can store Hay that you Scythe from Grass (Scything Grass without a Silo just makes the Grass disappear) to feed those animals on Rainy and Winter days when they stay in the Coop/Barn. If you fully upgrade the Coop/Barn, that building can then pull Hay automatically from the Silo (heh, automagically as you can place any of these buildings anywhere on your Farm!). Plus the Silo is cheap, no reason not to get two at twice the price!

To get the better Animal products you need for some of the CC Bundles, let your Animals out every day and allow them to eat Grass on the Farm. Also, Pet them every day! Happy Animals make those better quality products faster.

A silo should definitely be the first building you buy. I generally won't even scythe my grass until I get one.

An untamed farm grows a lot of grass, though, and there are three seasons to scythe the silo full. It's nice to remove the grass where you typically travel, because it slows you down a little. But then I don't tend to build roads until way too late probably, so there is that :D

Barn and Coop are clutch for filling bundles and Silo is really cheap and honestly helpful to build before either of those, as others have mentioned but I'm just going to add every time I build a Stable I always regret not building it sooner. You get so much more done so much more quickly when you cut down on travel time.

No no no... yes you can put a hat on your horse, but it is so much more than a mobile hat rack. CHILDREN are mobile hat racks.
hmm, so i can put one of my 3 garbage hats on a horse (dont ask why i have 3, i got them randomly)

I tend to clear a few paths and an area for planting, annd leave the rest until I jave at least one silo. Then I clear until I stop seeing hay symbols pop up every couple of strokes, and wait until I get another silo.

Plus. of course, I never scythe where the animals are. Even if it means they can be hard to find to pet. All that free range grass seems to be good for them
