I recommend not using the wiki, personally. Everyone has their own play preferences, but I feel that exploring the wiki too much will take away some of the magic of the game. The wiki will always be there later, but you can only have a first playthrough of the game once. Take your time and enjoy it. Most of what you need to know you can actually learn from the game itself, mainly from the TV and the Library books that you dig up (if you don't know then just wait and keep watching the Living off the Land channel on your TV). Best of luck to you and your Stardew journey.
I do agree with you. c: I recommended the wiki since I have come across players who didn’t know it existed. It’s a great and valuable resource guide that I believe is nice to know exists.
From personal experience, it assisted me with a few things when I first started playing, for even after I read the lost books, and stuff with the secret notes, there had been a few things that I didn’t properly comprehend, and so ended up stuck and at a loss. The wiki assisted me in better comprehending, and things then immediately made sense.
I can be slow on the take at times, and need an additional source of information to assist in my fully grasping (which that isn’t simply for things just pertaining to Stardew and other games, but also other real world things). Whilst there are things that are deemed ‘simple enough to grasp’ (not just solely pertaining to games), they can still prove to be a struggle for some individuals (such as my dumb-self haha) as well. ^^
Random side note;; I also love the wiki since it also explains other things about the game (such as the creation and history of it)/fun trivia facts. One of the things I especially love is seeing the portrait art progress, from the first concept to the final product.
