What is your most ‘painful’ (or rage quit and reload save) moment in SV?

Just thought about this when I was responding to a comment.

One of my top moments that immediately comes to mind -

Putting this in a spoiler since it pertains to the 1.5 update;;

Was working one of Mr. Qi’s quests (the Skull Cavern one) you get for the purple diamond-things currency to buy things from him —I can’t recall what that currency is actually called lol.
It was the last day to complete the quest.

I was killed and lost two prismatic shards, three diamonds, two rubies, plus money that Harvey took for the clinic bill —which, the money thing isn’t so bad, since I had a few mill. On top of losing those items, I was on the 99th floor. I was so mad XD I immediately exited that save, and reloaded it to start the day over. That time, I decided ‘screw it’, and brought a crap ton of staircases with me. I didn’t originally want to use any stairs, but after that happened … Ja.

Mine would be that one time when I was trying something different, and chose to fish all night and let myself collapse at 2am with no money. And just as I was passing out, I realised that the following day was the Egg festival.

And that I had not placed anything in the shipping bin to sell.

I discoverd the hard way that you can't sell items at the festival booth. I didn't get any strawberries that year.

Oof! That’s quite painful and definitely a hard lesson to learn. XD;; Hopefully you caught some good fish at least? ^^;

I remember my first playthrough, I didn’t know about the strawberry seeds, and I was sol because I didn’t have enough money for even one pack of seeds. And I was bummed even a little bit more because strawberries are my second favourite fruit in real life, and so I get happy when I see them, or strawberry related things, in-game. I know that’s a silly thing, but it is what it is lol

In my first save I avoided the mines till Winter Y1. Combat is not my thing. The slimes made mincemeat of me and took my rusty sword! So much for my nice safe Stardew Valley. It tok me days to get over it and be willing to get back into the mines. I had to scythe my way through enough slimes to get into the Adventurers Guild and buy a decent sword.
I almost never reset days but this week I was puttering around Winter 25 and didn’t get to town till 2:30. Decided I was not going to miss the Feast of the Winter Star and reset.

somewhat recently I accepted a qi quest in the hard mode mines, had luckily got 2 galaxy thingers (the ones that release a weapons ultimate something or other) and I think a prismatic shard or 2 during this run, paused for a moment came back and my Switch had errored me! kicked me out. That's the only time my Switch has ever done me dirty like that.

I got so angry once bc I was messing around to see what would happen if you got so 'exhausted' and kept on going. I ended up passing out at the end of the day after a successful trip to the volcano dungeon and quickly tried to quit the day to stop form passing out... not sure why when I think back now though. Anyway, it didn't work and I ended up losing pretty much all of my good stuff I had just found.

Passing out doesn't lose you anything except for cash. You mean you got KO'd?

I already worked through so many saves, I can't recall the worst incident, but just recently got a message that there's something in the Lost and Found chest in the mayor's office. It was
the photo of Birdie's husband, so I realised I had lost a chest on Ginger Island. It was placed at the edge of the beach, so obviously an NPC in the resort walked through it - stupid fool! Are they blind or what? This way I lost my Galaxy Hammer ... 🤬

But I had a most embarassing moment, too: I celebrated my first wedding in underwear ... 🤣 To explain: I have the habit to undress before I go to bed, and it was my first wedding in the game (with Emily btw.), so I didn't know that the ceremony starts immediately at the beginning of the day, that you don't get up (and dressed) first.

I have restarted days after pickaxeing my only Ancient Fruit and other choice farmables but my rageiest quit potential was the SK day that I got an AutoPetter. So of course I got greedy instead of immediately leaving and was predictably walloped by 3 Flying Serpents who apparently mistook my beautiful green tresses as a female of the species (OK, understandable...) and got entirely too frisky with the claws whilst fighting over me.

Directly over me. Srsly, move those discussions to another room.

Checking with that charlatan Marlon the following day, he found my missing SAP (no, you shouldn't have, so thoughtful), some low-grade gems (have dozens of those), and he's just sooooooo proud of the Iridium Ore he found. Wow.

I have a freaking STATUE than hands me that stuff every morning!

For free.

Meanwhile he probably sold the Autopetter to Marnie to keep her company when Lewis is doing his tax rounds in town.

For her COWS. Sometimes I wonder about you people...

I, also, have restarted days just... sooo many times. I mean, there's no way I could count. I really only play multiplayer with the spouse (total across a few farms, 10 years of play), and she's typically against restarting unless it is something dire. We've only done it a few times, like if someone loses their galaxy sword or something. When I'm playing solo (collectively 20 years of play), though? She can't serve as a brake on my desire to reset when mildly frustrated by something...

I slipped up and launched explosive ammo across my farm once... I didn't even go look. Exit to start.

I've accidentally chopped crops. Exit to start, of course.

I've missed festivals by 0 minutes (like, srsly, as soon as it hits 2pm you've missed the festival). Exit to start often, but some festivals I can take or leave will occasionally just shrug and move on.

I've missed festivals because I forgot which location the festival was in and went the wrong way. Then, of course, I had a longer trip to where the festival actually was. Exit to start, obviously, because I was actually trying to get there so you know that's a festival I wouldn't just shrug at.

I've spent too much time getting somewhat unnecessary chores out of the way before going to Pierre's to get my seeds for the 1st of the season resulting in me having nowhere near enough seeds to plant. (If I was playing with a controller, this is when I would probably throw it.) Exit. To. Start.

There's been just SO many things.

Blew up a big chunk of my melon patch on my wilderness farm because I forgot I was still wearing my napalm ring.
Blew up a bunch of stuff in my house by accidentally setting down a bomb.

Both of those are big StarDON'Ts.
I haven't rage quit without saving for it yet, but I've trashed furnaces and fences in my in-farm quarry at least 3 times via napalm ring since it's also where my outdoor slimes hang out. And I blew up kegs in action in my kitchen at least twice with my first farmer dropping bombs. (I mostly haven't with this one just because I now store my bombs in chests at all the cavern entries instead and try not to keep too many at home.)

I'm pretty sure if I exploded crops, especially something expensive, instead of empty furnaces, I may have rage quit.

OK, I haven't gotten all these Rings people write about and I only recently forged 2 Rings together to make a slightly better Iridium Band but I will never even come close to using the Napalm Band! It's not that it won't be good in the Dungeon/Cavern. It's that I have NO CHANCE of remembering every time to take it off afterwards. The drawbacks will very quickly outweigh the benefits.
