By aspect I mean - what's your favorite part, if any? What was the thing you first lived about SDV which is a thread on here...
Somewhere.
My favorite part? Um… the first thing I loved about SDV is how nice the townsfolk are. They are not at all like the people in real life. Well, hailey is kinda rude

I feel like the NPCs that are rude in the beginning just want you to pursue them a little. And I think a lot of us are like that.

Hi, I’m new to the game as well. Probably the thing that first roped me in was the feeling that I could really do anything I wanted. I also really enjoyed being able to meet different NPCs and interact with them.

Ok, so question #1. Why do the toddlers/your kids only grow up to be a toddler?
That was ConcernedApe's subtle hint that if you have a house full up with a Spouse, Pet, and 2 mobile, color-coded hatstands, that maybe you should consider starting a new save with a new Farm type and maybe a different strategy. Seeing as you did the traditional Spouse and species-maintenance tasks on that previous save, maybe this time you can focus on befriending all the non-human characters like Krobus, the Dwarf, the Traveling Cart Pig, Gil (The Zombie King™), the May-Pal Bear, and the Wizard (clearly of extraterrestrial or at least extraintellectual origin).

This time you could terraform the Railroad, Desert and Quarry into pixel-art homages to your now-missing ex-Family from Save #1. Take care to coif the hatstands beforehand with easy-to-copy designs like the Totem Mask or Living Hat. The Tropiclip is for lazy cheaters! I would never stoop lower than the Delicate Bow.

Other new Farm options include replicating the Military-Industrial Complex of a wealthy Western Nation, GMO Monocropping Cauliflower, Melons, and Pumpkins until your Farm is consumed by Giant Meat-eating Super-Produce (which are just looking for love, too!), or starting an outdoors Medieval LARP, complete with rare Gem exchange of everything you've plundered from underneath the Dwarf's unsuspecting feet. I've even heard distant rumors of slashing up a perfectly good Farm into an Ostrich Racetrack but those are easily discounted as no fool would even consider such folly.

The fool would just do it.

I knew you'd have something marvelous to say, I just had to wait.

Welcome to the forums! Like a lot of folks have mentioned I really fell in love with the graphics- I think it’s a beautiful game- and the NPCs. Getting to know them was my favorite part of my first play through. I also love the fact that I can successfully grow well, anything. In real life, I can barely keep my herb garden alive.

I kinda want to try a new run where I don't use any sprinklers, only Rain Totems.
Wow, expensive and mid-late game. I think I've only ever seen 2 Rain Totems in my hundreds of hours of playing. Just getting there will be an exercise in sleeping patience. Chopping lotsa Trees. Even Tree Fertilizer is solidly mid-game though that will get the challenge going faster. Can't really grow too much Forage as you'll need 7 natural rainy days per Season for them to grow.

So lotsa Mines, Fishing, Skull Cavern (except the SC Key requires Beets, IIRC).

Hmmm... this is interesting, though...

In my opinion the Pine Tar will be the most demanding part of it. If you are crafting these yourself, then you'll need 5 pine tar a day. If you have enough pigs you can create sufficient truffle oils on your non-rainy days, and the hardwood, you need 1 per day, no biggy.

This is entirely doable

Beets are required to access the Casino, but not Skull Cavern. Skull Cavern only requires reaching the bottom of the Mines, and unlocking the Desert, of course. Junimo Kart is also unlocked upon reaching the bottom of the Mines.

No need to make it harder than it actually is!

Yes, I was thinking about the Pine Tar and also the need to get to Foraging Level 9 first.

Yup! 🤦‍♀️ Mixed those two up. And I never knew that about Junimo Kart! Shows how often I head to the Saloon to do a round of gaming.
