Need help finding work boots!

[1.5 spoilers for rings, hats, and food buffs]

I have finished the game and I am now collecting all hats and shoes! The two remaining items I don't have are the living hat and work boots. (I finally got the crystal shoes after spending 5 hours in Skull Cavern.) I thought I would get the boots much faster, but I did not realize how rare they are if you don't have the remixed mine rewards on. According to the wiki, there's about a 0.012 chance to get them from a fishing treasure chest. Which is as rare as finding a prismatic shard in a fishing treasure chest!! I've fished more than 7 straight in game days and I'm quickly loosing hope.
To maximize my chance of finding those treasure chests, I fish on maximum luck days with the following things; 5 luck in food buffs (golden pumpkin soup and golden ginger ale) 2 lucky rings, magnet bait, a treasure finder, and the pirate profession.
Is there anything I'm missing or could do to find work boots easier? Has anyone gotten work boots from a fishing treasure chest before? I would appreciate some feedback, thanks!

I believe I've gotten the Work Boots from a Fishing Treasure Chest. I had NO idea they were that rare of a find. Lemme check...

Fill Disclosure: I do not have the Work Boots as I confused them with other things I've found in Treasure Chests. Now I need this new fashion accessory, soon... ehm, -ish? they will be mine! Good Luck (literally!) finding them!

My only suggestions to improve things would be going with a gold quality Lucky Lunch instead for an additional +1 to luck... and, well... if you want it bad enough, the only bigger luck boost from food is Magic Rock Candy, but I'm not sure that +.5% increase to treasure chest is worth going with Magic Rock Candy over the gold Lucky Lunch.

Gold quality cooking increases all buffs by 1, not doubles, so it turns the +3 into a +4. Magic Rocky Candy is +5, so slightly better, but for half the duration and a much higher cost.

I just wanted to point out that if you're low on Iron Bars to craft Magnets with (even after spending five hours in Skull Cavern...), it is 6 times cheaper to buy Spinners from Willy for 500G and Deconstruct them into 2 Iron Bars than it is buying Iron Ore and Coal from Clint (10 * 250 = 2,500G for the Iron Ore; 2 * 250G = 500G for the Coal; 2,500G + 500G = 3,000G). Assuming that you aren't in Year 1, of course.

With the added bonus that if you're fishing at the Beach and you run low on Magnets, you can just head up to Willy's, Buy n' Deconstruct some Spinners and hit the seas once more!

I would recommend just starting a new farm and making sure you get it from mines chest. The odds of getting it from a fishing treasure chest are so low that you'd need 5,775 chests to have a 50/50 of seeing one and you'd have to open 19,185 to have a 90% chance of seeing one. If you are able to open 30 chests a day it would take you approximately 5.7 in game years of nothing but fishing to get those 90% odds.

Unless theirs another source of the boots in the mine it will be faster to just start over and get everything else again.

That's a great trick for magnets, thanks for sharing! (I do have enough bars, but I'll use this on my other farm)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll never get them, but it was worth a shot to see if there was an easier way to find them. Thanks for providing the math on that!
If I really wanted them for other purposes, I would start a new farm, but this is just endgame fun. :)

Welp, my advice is to just sit back, pop open one of your pale ales (or your choice of favorite drink from the farm), relax in your favorite spot (obviously wherever Willy is standing or going to stand) and just have fun fishing. Obviously put on as many fishing treasure perks as you can, but yeah. Sounds like a pretty fun end-game goal if you ask me.

Did you find the work boots 🥾 yet? I’m still searching for them !

Could you make a character to join someone's game with remixed mines, get the work boots on the 10th floor, and then join your own game with the character? Or are farmhands locked to one farm? My friends never try to join more than one farm.

I'm pretty sure characters are locked to the Farm where they were created so transferring items isn't possible. It looks like the "best" option is to try for them when you first open Level 10 in the Mines and just restart the day until you get them? But for me the best option is to acknowledge their absence and move on, like with the Panda Hat.

Sorry but unless you have insane luck it’s the rarest cosmetic item in the game and you probably won’t get them
In 1.6 there are some pretty annoying new cosmetics too, ones that only drop from the clothing check from random tasks at insanely small chances. They can’t simply be forced with dynamic seeding either
