Tea Sapling conclusion for Winter Year 1

A few posts here have discussed using Tea Saplings as a source of quick g in early game. I found out about this strategy from a Wickedy Chickady YouTube video a week or 2 ago and decided in the middle of Summer Year 1 to implement it.

tl;dr: they are an excellent option, I cleared 130,000g in Winter Year 1 and this was on the side while doing other things.
_____

General order of operations, overlap when possible:

Initial phase:

Trim but do not scythe all the Weeds (for Fiber) in any location on the entire community map. Leave some so they will grow back sooner.
Save your Mixed Seeds for later.
Forage to Level 1 (to get the Wild Seeds (Spring) recipe)
Donate the Forage to the CC Bundle and plant the 30 Wild Seeds (SP) so you can expand them
2:heart: With Caroline (easy w/Daffodils)
Cutscene in Caroline's Tea Room (Tea Sapling recipe next day)

Now make whatever Tea Saplings you can with the materials you have:
Wood
Fiber
Wild Seeds (Spring)

Fiber
will be your shortage for a while, trim it back as you come by it on the way to other places. Levels 15-29 in the Mines have a lot of Weeds, you can head there whenever you have a free hour or 4, and just reset the Levels if you're stuck or there aren't many Weeds.
Wild Seeds are made from Forage, and once your first CC Bundle harvest comes in, that may be enough for a while.
Wood. Yeah, if you need help here, maybe play Minecraft instead...

Summer is a repeat of this. Wild Seeds (Summer) are even cheaper than Spring's, you'll get some from the CC Bundle (plant these) and Forage for the rest. Repeat for Fall, but:

Later Try(a little)Hard Phase:

Fall brings the Special Orders Board and Linus' Community Cleanup will solve your Fiber problem as the reward is Fiber Seeds. Which need Mixed Seeds (see above), Sap, and Clay. Here is where you can start putting just a little more effort into this if you want to pay for more expensive stuff, but I put this off 'til Winter.

Starting in Winter, I planted about 60-80 Fiber Seeds and after the first Harvest, had diminishing returns on the Mixed Seeds needed to craft more Fiber Seeds, but still had 40-50 in the ground by the last week of Winter. With the volume of Fiber available, I was constantly out of Wood and Wild Seeds. Here's what I did:

Wood: Bought 2 Wood Chippers from Robin as I had a huge amount of Hardwood available (Forest Farm FTW!). Even this wasn't enough so I bought abut 200 Wood for this and other projects. I actually bought 500 but have 300 left! Every single Tree was cut by early Winter so this was my Wood supply.

Wild Seeds: A few strategies. (1) Planted the 30 from CC Bundle (2) Foraged on the way to other places (3) Hoed Mountains and half of Train Crossing 6 or 7 times (this resets every day in Winter and is very Zen for me). Ran excess Winter Roots through 2 Seed Makers for more Winter Seeds.
_____

In the end, I used up every Fiber I had, save for Winter 28 when I made a Loom.

What did I buy with an extra 130,000g that I might not have otherwise had?
2 Auto Grabbers from Marnie
1 Stardrop from Krobie
2 Fish Ponds from Robin
3 Pigs from Marnie

Of course I still had my other sources of income to pay for more things but these were more luxury goods I would have foregone without this g. Remember this is in addition to about 50,000g (at least) with Tea Saplings before Winter for other goodies (like 2 more Pigs).
_____

On an unrelated note, my Favorite thing in the game is the Spring 1 Grass EXPLOSION!!!!!

What?!?! Lew Zealand not being lazy and trying to do something other than be hilarious? "No, I won't believe it"

All jokes aside, Lew, I really had never considered this as a strategy until I saw all of the discussions about it here. And seriously, this is a great guide to doing it. Suspiciously so, in fact. Almost as if somebody kidnapped the real Lew Zealand. Hm, I will be watching you, Lew Zealand. I have my eye on you 🧐

It was easy money. Toooooooooo easy. 🕵️‍♀️

So I had to write every single thing I did just to feel better about stealing candy from babies. 'Cuz there's a first time for everything. The feeling bad part, I mean. I made it look like there's some plan but if you read closely, you'll see that it's an unplanned contraption consisting mostly of bent hairpins and used matchsticks. Whatever looked like it'd work, I did it.

And lo and behold the still game delivered me Spring 1, Year 2 even though I'd earned none of it.

I win!

This is a great guide! Are you going to post it in guides and resources section too? I think you should.

I’m only in the last week of summer using this strategy, but so far my experience is similar to yours. I really hope people who are short of cash or tired of fishing for early money will give it a try. I still can’t believe I was able to by coal in my first spring all thanks to tea saplings.

I was wondering beforehand if this was an appropriate thing to do as it was more of a strategy than a guide, though what I posted ended up being a guide because I like to write instructions. Just not do them.

If the Mods want to move this there, that'd be great, or if I should repost and maybe rework it a bit to match the other submissions there, I can do that as well!
