Making more money quicker?

The fishing mini game is the thing with the green bar that happens after you hook a fish.

You can't rotate barns (or any other buildings).

The higher someones heart level is, the more likely they are to send you gifts. Some characters also send you useful things, like recipes or blueprints, either when they reach a certain heart level of of you help them.

You can enter bedrooms as soon as you have 2 hearts with somebody. They don't just let any stranger walk in ;)
lol!....oh I had guy turn up at my door with some blueprints...think it was the furnace, though I hadn't really started to make a friendship with him...think it was the guy who smashes your geodes! I'm not good with names in real life and having had to avoid contact since the onset of the pandemic (due to immune system issues) the social side of the game is going to be challenging for me! I seem to have literally forgotten how to be sociable or make small talk (in smaller to and fro chats like text messaging).

That was Clint, the blacksmith. Don't worry, he's not good at small talk either ;)
The furnace is prompted when you first find copper ore.

Small tip for being social in game: on the menu where it shows you how many hearts you have with a character, you can click on them and oben a small summary with what you found out about likes and dislikes.
Otherwise, I find that just talking to people when I pass them improves friendship quite a bit.

That will be useful thanks!

Everyone’s advice is spot on and should really help you out. For short term cash, I do have an idea. Well, I wish I could claim credit for this.

So, my advice is tea tree saplings. Wickedy Chickedy released a YouTube video on this strategy, if you need more detailed information than I can provide you. She made over 1,000,000g her first year selling tea saplings alone.

First, befriend Caroline. If you talk to her every day and give her 2 gold star veggies a week, it will only take you 14 days to get her to 2 hearts. 2 hearts is all you need. I didn’t talk to her every day and gave some normal veggies as gifts. I still managed to befriend her in 16 days.

While you earn Caroline’s friendship, gather and hoard all of the wood and fiber you can. Also, forage as many horseradish’s, daffodils, dandelions and leeks as possible, turn them into wild seeds, plant them, harvest them and repeat.

Once you have 2 hearts with Caroline, enter the room in the back of her kitchen. If a cut scene doesn’t trigger, try again on another day. Once you’ve seen the pretty awesome cut scene (you’ll never look at Caroline the same again), she will send you a recipe for tree saplings in the mail.

You need fiber, wood, and wild seeds to make tea saplings, but they sell for 500g each. Just 20 of them will net 10,000g at no cost to you. As a bonus, you will be doing a lot of wood cutting, fiber harvesting and foraging anyway, so this strategy won’t really interfere with your other activities.

Good luck!

I'm back on my file working on this tea saplings plan..lol! ..only have a silver star corn today so I'll go introduce myself again!!

So @Lew Zealand is also trying out this strategy and she pointed out to me that daffodils make great gift for Caroline! A silver star veggie should work well too.

Also, wild seeds from any season, not just spring, can be turned into tea saplings. I hope this works well for you.

Mixed seeds and seasonal wild seeds are two different things. Mixed seeds can't be used to make tea saplings.

I'm in autumn so I don't think there are daffodils..I've got a couple of gold star fruits from the cave that I've saved to give to her. But gave her 2 gifts and still have no stars. Have one on Marnie (still trying to get the Mayor's shorts!!)

Yeah, this strategy is best applied almost immediately in Spring, but I hoard Daffodils as gifts for Emily and Haley, so I still had some left in Summer. Needless to say, the sisters had to go without while I simped on Caroline to get those 2:heart:, but I already had Haley at 8:heart: and had Earth Crystals for Emily so really, they were totally cool with it.

Save a pumpkin. You’ll get a quest from her and fulfilling quests also boosts your friendship.

I've given caroline loads of silver and gold star stuff and only just now got 1 heart! what does it mean if there's a cross under the speech bubble?

The cross just means you've talked with her today and can't get your heart level up that way with her again until the following day.

A Gold star Liked Gift is not as good as a regular quality Loved gift, so that will take longer. You'll need to give her 5 Gold star Liked Gifts to get her up one star, that's 2.5 weeks of gifting. Another 4 Gold star Liked Gifts will get you up to 2 Hearts, 2 more weeks. Talking to her every day will cut that time down significantly, so that you could get her up to 2 hearts by the end of Week two.

That's with 2 Gold star Liked Gifts each week and a daily chat. Silver star Liked Gifts or Gold /Silver star Neutral Gifts and/or missing a chat now and then will delay this another week or two.

Marnie is out on Mondays and Tuesdays. Robin is also out Tuesdays, because they have a sports class with Caroline.

Yes, gold star is good (there is one higher quality that you'll reach later).

But love is better than like. That's why a average loved gift is still better than a quality liked gift.

There’s no difference between the sell price of things sold at Pierres or the shipping box on the farm. The only benefit of the shipping box is the ability to sell items that you can’t normally sell at Pierres (such as fiber and and museum items)
Also, there’s no rush for the community centre! Take as much time as you want.
Personally I make my money by planting a ton of crops, then sleeping every day until they grow, harvest them, replant and continue. Yes, it’s boring and a waste of time, but you can get some quick cash that way.
Keep in mind you can’t get soft-locked by having no money. It’s basically impossible.

soft-locked????

soft-locked????
A state in a video game where you can't do anything to change where you're at or progress. For example, in a Mario game, if you fell into an area with a bunch of invisible blocks on top and you can't get back out. You're not dead, but you can't do anything either. In a RPG like Skyrim, say you had killed a critical quest NPC, and as a result, could never finish the game. You're not dead, but you can't progress either. It can't happen in Stardew because you can always make money from foraging or trash cans, and you shouldn't be able to permanently lose your tools, so he's just saying you can't ever get stuck.
