PC [BUG] Watering can completely gone

I've got about 150 hours into the game and had an incident at the Skull
Caverns where I got knocked out. I awoke at hospital, missing
items (of course). However, my watering can was gone. I tried at
the mayor's house, my house and my chests, but it is completely
gone. This will make my game unplayable. Any suggestions?

I have seen SO many people lose important items in their fridge. Check there. I'm serious. Give it a try.

Okay, have you slept since then? Because if it actually bugged out I'm fairly certain the game has a failsafe that gives you a new watering can after you sleep.
Edit: this is a quote from the wiki; If the player somehow loses the Scythe, Axe, Pickaxe, or Watering Can (by dying in the mines for example), the next day a basic version of the tool will appear either next to the player's bed or in the player's refrigerator if the player has a kitchen. Mayor Lewis may send a letter in the mail saying he found them and returned them.

If I were you, I would double-check ALL chests and anywhere that it could be. I mean ANYWHERE. After that, I don't know what to tell you.

Well, I really don't know what to say. And you don't play with mods either? I know you posted it in the non-modded section, I just wanted to double-check.

Is it possible that this is related to the new update? I'm really stumped. Unless it's hidden in a chest somewhere that you can't find. I really have no idea how to help you.

Update: I did some digging and I found a bug log on the wiki. I don't know how relevant this is, but you might be able to use the information below to fix it.

• In multiplayer, it is possible to lose a tool in the mines and never get a replacement back. A known workaround for this bug is to have one of the non-hosting players create a new character, have them drop their tools into a chest, and then quit and re-join as their original character.
