Where is your favourite spot to fish?

Hello everyone!

I enjoy fishing, and so whenever I have some spare time and space in my backpack, I like drop a line and see what bites! Generally I go to the Beach to fish, because I like picking up the forageables and I have the Obelisk. If I'm at the Beach, I'll only fish with my bobber hiding behind the Lonely Stone. We're best buds!

But there are so many different places to go out and catch some exciting fish! So, I was wondering where your favourite spot to fish is?

I'm a quick and lazy farmer, so it's straight south from the farm to the River in Cindersap. I cast towards the one double length deep spot that you'll hit if you walk directly south. And promptly fall asleep until Leah kicks me awake on her way back from the Saloon.

However the Lakes supposedly give you more valuable Fish, so sometimes I'll head North from the Farm to the mountains and Fish at the SW spot of the Mountain Lake next to the fence, casting East towards the sunken log. Here you'll see Nature express itself in the local frogs and Linuses. More rarely, Abigails.

I rarely make it to the Ocean any more as I've ignored the Beach Obelisk in recent saves, but if there I usually Fish in Willy's spot just to get that annoyed reaction, or just to its right if I need to sell the Fish quickly. Early game only, though.

Very Honorable mention to the Cindersap Lake after 10pm to get Midnight Carp to make Seafoam Pudding. You make it home faster from here than the Mountain Lake, but this is quite dependent on planning ahead to get Flounder and Squid from the Ocean. So this doesn't happen. But it could!

It depends on what season it is and why I'm fishing. If I'm looking for a profit in summer I fish at the beach and in fall in the river by Leah's. If I'm looking for particular fish (like tuna, flounder, midnight carp, whatever I need for whatever reason) I go to where those fish are.

Fishing on the riverlands farm map is the bee's knees. You can fish at home any time, any season, and you won't catch a bunch of junk. Fishing on the beach farm is pretty nice too, but you still catch more stuff other than actual fish than you do on a riverlands farm.

I feel like I fish most often around Sam's house, but the beach is also nice. I've also been known to stalk around the mountain lake since Sebastian lurks nearby and he's one of my favorites regardless of whether I am pursuing him as a spouse on that particular file or not.

The sea behind my house at night...
I seriously love fishing on my beach farm, especially behind the house. Sure it’s convenient and profitable, but I really love the atmosphere- the way the water laps against your feet, the quiet night, the beauty of the land.

I do practical fishing early game- up at the mountain lake and in front of Willy’s. But where do I enjoy fishing? The pond in the secret woods at night, by the lonely stone and in front of Jodi’s. That’s the best place to observe the comings and goings of the villagers. Plus, I get to gossip with my boys.
Fishing on the riverlands farm map is the bee's knees.
This saying deserves a comeback. It fits completely with the feel of SDV.

No matter what season it is, I usually like fishing at the mountain lake. Preferably when it's raining, but I'll fish there any weather. My usual spot just so happens to be right next to where Sebastian likes to go have a smoke now and then. My second choice would be at the beach on the pier next to Willie's favorite spot. Again, preferably on rainy days.

I usually fish at the beach, specifically on the dock, all the time.
I think it is because I have grown up in a coastal area my whole life.
I love the smell and the sound of the sea.
I grew up in a coastal myself, but we were far enough inland that our fishing was done in lakes and bayous. My grandfather raised crawfish for a while, so he was like a Stardew farmer with a very wet farm filled with crab pots. (Since he never caught trash he clearly had the Mariner profession.) The saltwater stuff (crabs and shrimp), we always bought fresh from folks who were literally ON the coast. Here in the land of 10-bajillion lakes I find myself missing the ocean quite a bit.

I'm playing the riverlands farm now and this is the first time I've enjoyed fishing so much - right there on my farm, behind my own farmhouse, chilling out in the evenings.

(The river and forest farm layouts are my favorites so far.)

Other than that, I usually fished in the ocean, at the rivermouth or from the pier - because sardines were the only fish I could reliably catch at first :toothy:

I just started playing on the Xbox since it's on Game Pass (giving the PC version a break), and while I don't know if I can call it my favorite spot I'm really loving fishing at the beach. Two reasons. One, the fish seem pretty valuable there. I'm on day 7 and I've made about 6k almost exclusively from fishing, which of course doesn't include all 7 days since you don't get the fishing rod right away. Second reason, it's right by Willy's shop so I can easily sell when my inventory fills up. Plus as a little bonus, I find that the sounds of the ocean and what I assume to be seagulls to be pretty relaxing.
