Solved Hay Hopper

How do I get hay from the Hay Hopper on the PS4 controller? I am pushing X and Square and either nothing happens, or the hopper shakes but no hay is retrieved. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for replying man. Yea, the bench is full. I had bought some hay earlier from Marnie earlier. I used that to fill up the bench for a few days while Robin built the silo. But, while I was troubleshooting (I.E. trying everything I could to get the hay), I had pushed X on the hopper while holding the hay I bought, and I deposited it into the silo.

You can't take out hay if the bench is full.

If you still want to empty the hopper, use a cherry bomb to destroy the hay in the bench. It won't hurt the animals.

Oh! HA! Did not know that. I was trying to take 10 out for the Community Center bundle. Thanks for your help guys.

Yup, exactly why I asked if the bench was full. Ereo just got back to do the followup before I did.

Protip: don't put hay from wheat or gifts into your silos. Cut grass to fill your silos. The hay from gifts and wheat you save in a chest for when you have less grass in later game. Additionally, when you can, pulling hay from your silos to put in that chest and refilling the silos from cutting grass. Save up lots of hay for free... and then when you get more and more animals, you'll never run out of hay and never have to buy too.
