Сoconut palm in the desert?

I'm not a great specialist in palms, but I think coconut palms grow on tropic islands, near the water, in high humidity atmosphere. Ginger island is good for them. Desert is not a suitable region from them. It's date palm that grows in deserts.
 
I used to live in North-West Africa. I have to disagree with you ALL respectfully.
There is the possibility to grow coconut trees in the desert as long you have a pond or a nearby ocean.
Plus, you can grow specifically in the oasis. –Remember, Calico Desert has an oasis.
