Waiting for a train to stop and take me to the big city...

I don't want any quests for Zuzu because I want to keep it optional to visit (would be bad for those who want to do every quest but not go to Zuzu) but your mom/dad could ask for a favor by only talking to you. That favor could be a loved gift so when he/she say "mmh... I'd really like to have some strawberries. I didn't have some good ones for a long time." so you know that strawberries is a loved gift.
We also could just sent something to Zuzu instead of visiting.

Then we also need a mail system where we can send items to others. ^^

@lilan castel I hope you know now what I meant before that we talk about our dad (when we are female) or our mom (when we are male) waiting in Zuzu for a visit of us. So what do you think about your dad ingame? Would you visit or just contact him, other than your mom?

He is less hostile than her mom but the letters stop due to her mother finding out.

Our parents could be divorced. That might be a reason, why we only received letters from our mom (when we are male) or our dad (when we are female) so the thing I mentioned before when I said "waiting for a visit of her son just to hug him and say some personal words about how proud she is" is that parent who wrote the letters to us. So it could be that our dad (when we are male) or our mom (when we are female) doesn't life in Zuzu because of the divorce so a family reunion is unlikely. Yes, I said, "maybe we can visit both" but there are so many possibilities and ideas I have...
I am not against you.
Uhm...
I guess the best way to describe it is "I don't know, we 'll see."
I think there is no proof about our parents being divorced. I know you meant single-parent.
However, we do not have detailed information about our father/mother too.

A quest is made to have a journey in life. – Or you can say life has so many surprises.
I must admit that the help billboard posts are boring. —e.g., Sebastian posted on the billboard to get a Joja Cola in exchange for 75g.
Sebastian was so stingy when it came to that. I swear I never gave him his favorite gift, but I elevated his heart from completing his stupid quests.
– To my surprise, Sebastian's heart's events happened by themselves, despite that I was not interested in him...I am only interested in doing business with him.

Guess what? I married him after reaching out to full hearts... But, I do not regret it because it is better than giving his favorite gifts... That's why I marry Sebastian. When someone gives you a quest, you will get new information and rare items or recipies. You never know what you get at the end.

Also, without a Pirate's wife quest, I couldn't learn about Kent's military background... You get the idea.
It's up to you not willing to complete the quests. Everyone plays differently in the game.

Mhmh, tricky. I mean, we already receive letters from villagers with items in it. The more hearts, the more letters. And there are also special letters by reaching a certain amount of hearts and they are also more chatty with more hearts and that happen all without related quests. So a letter from someone in Zuzu could be "Hey, I was shopping in the big Joja mall, found that special item and had to think about you. Have fun with it!" (Maybe a pack of cigarettes you can gift to Sebastian.)

As I said, we only have a very short background story so the relationship to our parents gives a lot of room for interpretations. Why do we only receive letters from one parent? What about the other parent? Do they still life together or are they divorced? (Did they marry before?) And if a parent moved out, when happened this? When we moved out to move into the farm house or before this or after this?

I think that when we are at that point to be able to go to Zuzu (so after finishing the movie theater) we may only be able to meet or contact that parent who wrote us the letters. (Contact without going to Zuzu could be a letter from that parent with the phone number.) But there shouldn't be any more background story why it is like that so we still have room for our own interpretation as I really appreciate the background story of @lilan castel for example. And I also have my own interpretations. (It would also be interesting how CA looks at that relationship and at Zuzu in general.)
