PC Help with SDV's new size.

Can anyone tell me how much bigger Stardew Valley is compared to version 1.3.28?
I have been very busy in life, and now wanna come back, but my PC is kinda full(few GB left), and i want to play the newer version, so need to know if i can.
Like, maybe the complete size of everything(the game and all folders with files) it has now would be helpful.
Thanks in advance!
Also, is it smart to update now, or are there some bad bugs going on at the moment i'd rather wait for to be fixed?
Man, can't wait for the fishing pond :)

Looks like it's less than 1GB to me, so you should be fine. The 1.4 update doesn't have new serious issues that I know of (some people have been reporting problems connecting in multiplayer, but it's tough to know if that's the game or the person's internet).

That said, the game should just auto-update itself through Steam or GOG?

Well, i never let it update before, as there were many smaller updates, and i didn't want to have half of the mods not work, and then i got very busy in reallife, so i kinda lost sight on the game's progress.
Did you mean the difference is less than 1GB? If so, it may be better to update not long from now.
Playing with mods doesn't load the game through Steam, so it won't auto update, luckily, otherwise mods that would be behind, could be unusable for a long time.
Thanks for the response!

I mean the entire game as of 1.4.5 is less than 1GB, so the update is likely only a few MB.

Ah, well many mods do update pretty quickly, but I can definitely understand playing it safe there :)

Stardew Valley 1.4 takes up about 490MB on PC. Also, the 1.4 update is a lot more stable than 1.3.... a huge amount of bugs and crashes were fixed.

Oh wow, that's good news :) less than 500MB, plus bug fixes and some other nice stuff i saw!
Thanks a lot for the replies and ConcernedApe for an official one!

One more thing has bothered me, though:
How does the game handle old characters? I was thinking about deleting them and start over, but in case i'm gonna keep a few, i want to know if anything could mess up in any way, or change.
Like my characters still have clothing from the changed character creation screen, so will i keep it, or will such things disappear?
I'm not worried about clothing as much, but it's an example of stuff that got an overhaul.

All the new updates so far have been 100% compatible with old save files, and that's something I plan on adhering to for any future updates as well.

And that's my cue to finally update, thanks a lot, ConcernedApe!
... Just got to download the updated mods now.
