The Flower Dance is pretty embarrassing...

I'm not sure if this is something that's been suggested already, but I know I can't be the only person bothered by it.
I'm aware that Stardew Valley is about an outsider trying to settle into a new life, therefore; it's perfectly normal and appropriate for this to happen during the first year.

But the fact that you're stuck wearing your farmer clothes during the Flower Dance just kills the mood. I've been visiting the wizard the day before the Flower Dance to curb the outfit issue, but the fact that you're placed a lot further back than the rest of the NPCs, and you still have horrible dance skills kills it anyways.

It's not really a problem during the first year, maybe the second year, but after the third, fourth year? It gets pretty damn annoying, and I just skip the event because of it.

My suggestion is: as you get close with NPCs and progress through the game, the farmer slowly gets better at dancing and becomes more in-sync with other dancers. (and maybe get their own outfit as well. i love rasmodius, but i don't want to have to run to him every time the flower dance comes around)

Ironically hilarious then that Haley is one of the easiest to get to dance with you in year 1. Shane is the other. Both of them have birthdays before the Flower Dance and that can make a big difference. It's harder to get the hearts necessary with anyone else.

Yeah, when you go to the wizard you can change your hair, your clothes, accessories, whatever you want. For me, I just change my pants color and put on the shirt that looks like a suit.

If you get access to cloth before the Flower Dance (I recommend fishing a lot if you want to do this) you can get access to the sewing machine. Then you could just tailor yourself a different outfit to wear for the festival.

At least clothing in general was topic of suggestion a lot.
If I remember correctly someone suggested to change clothes regarding season for everyone. But this would require also some text changes, like the talk to Demetrius at the fishing festival.

Specifically for the dance festival, I think you could get a matching outfit (shirt and pants) from Emily after you might have your first heart or just before your second year festival.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of clothing suggestions, but nothing similar to my suggestion, so I just decided I'd post just in case.

But besides that, you're right. I'm aware there's other methods of curbing the first issue I had (therefore I'm not sure if SVT would consider that type of suggestion yet), but the issue of the farmer not being in line with other dancers and the clumsy dancing still remains.

I tried to seduce Haley in my first year just for a dance partner. But the day after I gave her a daffodil she ignored me. The next day I had a tulip for her but I spoke to her first and she told me she liked my shoes (bare feet) and asked me if they were made of plastic.

Never again.

Farmer: At least i have a decent set of clothing for when i go to parties they may eventually have.
So one extra set of clothing, not work related, would be nice to have, or to get from Lewis before the event's day, as he'd want you to look good.
He's a little weird (imo), but he has manners.
