Finally got rid of all my trees

Also I unlocked the guarry mines and raised my mine level-I had already gotten rid of all the trees the day before though LOL, anyway here is my picture before and here it is after, I'm so happy, and now I did start actually working on my farm-planting more trees in my "tree area", moving my coop to be above the water proud and made a fence and gate getting some grass, and getting a new barn and also making a fence and gate and some grass. My only problem is I'm not quite sure on how to do aesthetics, as that's not really my forte, but that's what for farm designers is for, thank God for that. <3

Um... so you know, having a lot of trees in the fall is the easiest/cheapest way to get mushroom trees. You don't need to chop all the trees down.

I know I shouldn't have done that, but that's what I wanted so I can get a tree area, I think I will plant more since I have a load of stuff.

Congrats Pluffy! It can take a while when a game is new because of the low initial energy and non-upgraded tools.
Yeah um...I actually do have upgraded tools, it's just I was I an idiot and didn't know you can chop trees down with a normal axe, so it grow widely big.

Congratulations @Pluffy I know the trees make your farm look busy, but to echo what imnvs said, keeping trees around will allow you to get those lovely mushroom trees. Maybe later on you can parcel out some space to plant some trees? Of course, it's your game so play it how ever you want to because it's YOUR game, but speaking for myself only, I ended up regretting cutting all of my trees down and had to go about planting some more.

Again, congratulations on the tree cleanup. You're doing an outstanding job!

Thanks, and yeah I am planting more trees, so hopefully I will get the mushroom tree.

You can always plant more, I clear my land all the time and replant to rearrange stuff (to me this is the purpose of having land and is what logging generally does). I usually replant as I clear (we get seeds at this time anyhow). My land has a bunch of mushroom trees I got during this process, as long as you have fully grown trees by fall 2, there is a 5% chance of a regular tree converting to a mushroom tree. So, just do what you want and don't worry about the rest. You can use tree fertilizer (foraging level 7) to speed their growth to have more in time if needed. I chose the mushroom farm cave option, so I don't really need the mushroom trees (plus I get loads of them in cave floors and repeat collect, I have way too many mushrooms). As Michael says, it is your game, play it the way you want and have fun. 🙂 PS. I did exactly the same thing as you and I have a big clump of about 10 mushroom trees on my farm (always wanting to spread). Now I do selective logging just because it is easier/faster, so always leaving a handful of trees and planting more around them, when the ones around the others reach their max height (trees won't fully mature if they have others too close) then I chop the full grown ones and let the surrounding ones mature. Keeps me in wood year round, though when it comes time to rearrange my farm again, I clear it again and replant lol... I still end up with mushroom trees because of what I mentioned.

Thank you so much :), I was getting discouraged by me decision though I didn't look back, and yes I will follow your advice.
You're welcome. I'm glad you didn't let it discourage you. As the forum rules mention, there is no "right" way to play the game, and things that grow can be replanted.

Sometimes folks can come across a bit opinionated/disapproving/controlling of what other people do in their game, but the fact of the matter is, it isn't their game, it is your game. Part of the fun is exploring in an uncontrolled manner, making mistakes, learning from them (perfectionism tends to forget this is a powerful part of learning) and having fun. If you had fun, then mission accomplished. It is hard work clearing land... all that chopping lol.

You can safely ignore perfectionism, which to me relates to anxiety and a need to control it (source: am a reformed perfectionist). If you want to do things "perfect" in your next play through, good for you. Until then, just keep exploring and having a blast! 🙂

Sometimes it is the way things are said... "Right on/congrats Pluffy, that's hard work!... PS You might want to replant to make sure you have lots of fully grown trees by Fall 2 to get a mushroom tree, k? If not you can get it next year. Congrats on all the wood!"

Being a newbie and having people disapprove of everything is discouraging, there are other ways to say things that don't discourage (like encouraging while providing tips, and avoiding the "you're doing it wrong" statements that aren't even valid sometimes and just seem to be... nm there's no nice way to say it). Pluffy, if it happens too much you can use the ignore button to unsubscribe. There are lots of folks who can be encouraging while providing tips and supporting you. Seriously congrats on all the wood though! Woohooo!

Thanks, but don't worry I know at most they where confused, I can just be easily discouraged to also having anxiety, and I'm actually past year 2 lol, I just waited too long (while a bit insecure, I really cherish the game for allowing it to be play at your own pace.)

Right on, I'm glad all is well. I agree, it is wonderful to play at your own pace, and super relaxing! There are folks in year 10+ that are still working on some stuff at a leisurely pace, I think it is awesome they can get so lost in just enjoying the gameplay. 😁

*Correction: by "fall 2" I meant the second day of fall (any season). Fall 2 is just the way the wiki writes it. And apologies for assuming your tools weren't upgraded. I should have specified that new meant new-ish to the forum (as I am).

Hmmm, there's something different about those 2 images. Lemme get my blink comparator out... Ummm... no wait, I almost got it—

You moved your Bee House!
And there's a keg now!

BTW, about the mushroom trees, eventually (quite late-game) you can unlock a way to buy mushroom tree seeds. So that's an option. Or you can just not have mushroom trees, they're fun but not super necessary for anything. I don't have them on my main farm because I don't like the way they look.

Agreed, between the mines, the farm cave choice, and lost woods I got loads of mushrooms and didn’t need the mushroom 🍄 trees either. I've been contemplating cutting down the last patch for a while.

It's so easy to get pressured by this game. Sometimes you just have to let your character take a step back and breathe. I get into situations all the time where I'm grinding so hard and it's all I do in a day. The trick is not to take on more than you can handle. The game's not going anywhere. And like @CryogenCrystals said, it's your game. Play how YOU want. And above all else, don't forget to have fun! 🙂
