Aged Roe

So...I was trying to build fish ponds to complete the shipped collection and I already had sturgeon for caviar, but the wiki says "anything other than sturgeon...so I built a pond and put albacore in it. the roe was very dark and not at all like the light covered roe in the picture, but is this an error in the wiki or did I misunderstand something to fulfill that shipment?

You did it right. Different Fish make different colored Roe so your Albacore Roe should be sufficient for the Roe requirement. The Roe pic in the Wiki is only 1 type/color of Roe.

Bonus points if you arrange different colors of Roe in your chests to make clever 12x3 pixel art.

Wait, did you actually try putting it in a preserve jar and then shipping the aged roe, and then it didn't work? Because it should work. Roe just has different colours, the same way flowers have different colours but you can just ship any colour to fulfill the shipping achievement.

Um, yes the Aged bit. Like Elenna101 said, pop that Roe into a Preserving Bin!

Any type/colour of aged fish roe works for the shipping requirement as well. :)

Depending on your plans for your farm, I recommend building 2 more fish ponds. Lava eels produce beautiful red roe and spicy eel. Blob fish are fun too and they have some great drops. If you’ve unlocked Ginger Island consider stingrays- they drop dragon teeth .

I may have a slight fish pond addiction.

Yeah they do. I’m trying to convince my self I don’t the void salmon pond- no room for it!- but I really want all 4 of the colorful ponds.

Actually that was my reason to get all of those ponds and why I'm keeping them. I like those spoilery options. I like to Fish with the Cork Bobber so the Slimejack was my first one!

In my current save, and most saves late game, I have 10 ponds...

These I have because they're valuable:
2 lava eel
2 blobfish
2 ice pip

This I have because I like cooking gold quality spicy eel:
1 eel

These I have because I like cooking gold quality seafoam pudding:
1 flounder
1 midnight carp
1 midnight squid

One of the above ponds will have been a sturgeon pond at one point, just to complete bundles and collections, and then was emptied to make way for the one it becomes later.

Yes, I did put them in the preserves jar, but for some reason it took two sleeps before it showed up as fulfilled. So interesting...
