No golden coconuts?

I've had Ginger Island for a summer season and half of fall and have found absolutely no golden coconuts. I shake all the trees, break all the rocks, and check all over and get artifact worms. Do I have some crazy glitch and am gonna have to start a new farm? Am I missing something? I'm extremely confused as to what is going on. I obviously get golden walnuts but no golden coconuts. Nothing else seems out of place except for not ever seeing pirates either.

It took me a very long time to find the first golden coconut too; most of a season as I recall. Breaking rocks won't help you, but keep shaking those trees and digging up artifact spots. I'm not sure, but it's possible that golden coconuts can only drop from trees that drop regular coconuts (which is visible before shaking, so could save you time). I can't recall getting a golden coconut separately from a regular coconut dropped from a tree.

Based on my own experiences (and others), now that you've complained on the forum you should get that golden coconut drop very soon now.

Pirates - the day needs to be even-numbered and not raining on the island. The pirates will show up at 8pm. I had a string of even-numbered rain days that delayed them for me too.

If I recall, I got my first golden coconut when I chopped down a tree (I think it was a mahogany tree)

Only if you've found and opened one some other way, which the OP has not been able to do yet. That's why my first Golden Coconut drop was effectively five Golden Coconuts, since I could almost immediately go trade my accumulated supply of regular coconuts for more once that became possible.
