Switch problems.

So I’ve just learned that the 1.5 update on Switch has a bug regarding the Mummified Bat, making it virtually impossible to find. I figured ok, I’ll just use the item spawn code to fix that issue, only to find out that the item spawning has been disabled on consoles due to some rare crashing issues? I almost never use the codes, occasionally just to get around bad RNG, but I would gladly take a rare crash to alleviate issues such as this.

It’s been awhile since I played Stardew, coming back for the new patch content only to find out I’m locked out of content for... reasons.

I kinda just lost all drive to continue playing, which is really disappointing.

Yup Srsly, when that bug makes new content unavailable.

Then again the bug wouldn’t even matter if the codes hadn’t been disabled on Switch, but I guess you missed that part.

No, I didn't miss anything.

You're cut off from perfection. That's it. You can play 99.999% of the game, but this has you ragequitting because you can't see the cutscene? Seriously, dude, you gotta relax. It's annoying you? Take a break. It's not the end of the world. It'll get fixed.

Being disappointed and losing drive to play = ragequit? Project much? Maybe calm down before typing on the internet.

I’m a completionist, the knowledge that content is locked is disappointing. I didn’t think this would need to be explained.

The bug is less of a problem, the item spawning being unavailable on the platform is a larger issue. I’d love if we had some idea of when it will return, as it’s presence gives the player the ability to work around random issues like the Mummified Bat.

You're complaining that you can't exploit the game.

You're complaining about a bug that will be fixed and saying you've lost "all drive to continue", and then accuse me of being hyperbolic when I say you're angry and have told us you don't want to play the game anymore? And you say I'm the one that needs to calm down? Buddy, you're the one throwing a hissy fit, and I'm the one trying to get you to calm down. Don't pretend you're the one being reasonable here.

You'll be able to complete the game. You have to wait for them to fix the bug. Bug fixes aren't instantaneous. You need to relax. You need to be patient. You need to stop attacking people that are only trying to help.

Edit to add: Seriously, you can't complete the end-gamest parts of the end-game? Start a new save. You were presumably enjoying the game before this. You can still enjoy it. Just because you can't complete the last .01% of the game doesn't mean you have to be stopped or slowed down in the least. You just need to manage your expectations.

Still projecting :/

While you were being unhelpful, I managed to track down a work around. The Qi Bean quest seems to temporarily fix the drop rate of the Bat, so that will do for now.

Dude, you've been an ornery, contentious, sour grape from the moment you posted your first post, and all I've said is that you just need some patience and to relax because you'll get it eventually. What happened next? You found a way to get it. Honestly, I didn't have the answer you wanted, but I'm still going to take this as a win because I was right... and it really didn't take long at all.

Hey guys, let avoid name calling each other. I can understand this can be a frustrating bug and hopefully the patch for it will be rolled out soon!
