Lost my sword without having acces to marlons shop

Hi so Im new to this game and I was in the mine, where I lost my sword when I was farming the 10 monsters to get acces to marlons club. When I came to the last one, I lost because I hadnt much health, but I didnt thought this will cause any problems but I lost my sword. When I googled I always read that you can buy it back from marlon but yeah, since I havent killed all ten the doors are closed and I cant get it back.. So my question, do I have to start my game all over? Im just about to finish spring and I know its not that far into this game but hell this would be really annoying..

You can use axe/pickaxe to kill the monster. I think you will only deal 1 damage for each swing so it's not really a good idea.
I think the best option for you is to try to dive deeper in the mine without any weapon. Just prioritize breaking rocks.
There is a treasure chest every 10 floors in the mine. Hopefully you can get a new weapon from the chest.

If you only need one more, dealing damage with scythe, axe or pickaxe is your best option I think. It's a bit annoying because the damage is limited, but the rusty sword isn't that good either.

You can get lucky and find a better weapon in a fishing treasure and in some of the wooden crates in the mine, but I would probably just try with the tools.

I'd just go to level 1 of the mines... use the scythe (it has a sweep so is easier to use to hit things) to kill a slime. If you still need more, don't go down, leave and come back in (every time you enter the Mines are randomly generated). This will make sure that you'll always be fighting the weakest monsters you could possibly fight. Once you've completed the goal, leave, go to Marlon's and get something better.

Also ypu can fish for a glaive and break boxes to get pipes in the such. Good that you got it with the axe. Maybe we should have a craftable weapon like a leek sword, rainbow knife, mushroom hammer for spring summer and fall so if this happens to other new players especially on wildness farms

If something like that happens again i recommend using the scythe because it doesn't use energy.
