PC [HELP] Save File and Crash

BladeR2

Greenhorn
I'm 2yrs into the game, couple days into winter.
My game displays the usual "Loading..." at the bottom left for a couple seconds and then crashes. I tried creating a new world, I was successful but the game crashed approximately 30secs after. I'm sad and I'd really like to resume my game.

Can you share your most recent error log? (Crashes don't always produce an error log, so you may not see any in the folder).
  • On Windows, press the windows key + R and enter %appdata%/stardewvalley/errorlogs.
  • On Mac, from your desktop click Go in the menubar (in the top right), then "Go to folder..." at the bottom of that menu. Enter ~/.config/StardewValley/ErrorLogs/.
If you have SMAPI installed, the best way to share a log is via https://smapi.io/log. Thanks!

I did that, but it said it couldn't find it. I went in manually and inside the StardewValley folder I accessed through AppData->Roaming, there's a "Saves" folder and a file called "startup_preferences".

Alright, no problem. Crashes don't always create error logs. Thanks for checking though!
I'd recommend verifying your game files: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335
And if that doesn't help you can try the steps listed here: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#Game_doesn.27t_launch
Alright, verification was successful.
Installed XNA Framework4.0 successfully.
.NET Framework apparently can't be removed or uninstalled from window 8 onwards.
Didn't work, I decided to delete the "startup_preferences" instead. Did that and it worked, decided to see if it was temporary or not, so I restarted my pc...it was temporary.

I installed and ran the .NET Framework repair tool, same issue (game crashed while the "Loading..." animation was there).
I then restarted my pc, and opened it up, this time, it loaded, however when I walked outside my house, and walked a bit, I hit "e" (unsure if that was the trigger), the game froze and crashed.
