Which Mastery should I start with

It depends on where my Farmer is spending the most time/ making the most money. In Ferrous Farm, mining was the first mastery because I was trying to demonstrate how to get an infinity sword without unlocking the Caldera, so I needed the dwarvish forge recipe.

I'm skipping the poll because I know nothing about your Farm.

fishing, i ****ing hate having to do that later after putting it off, and plus its actually quite fun if you get to know it well

I am voting Farming because it's the most general-purpose Mastery, and having the earliest access to Golden Animal Crackers is great. I'm also assuming that you're asking because there is no clear best answer for your situation (you aren't doing a Fishing Only challenge, you aren't spending 5 days a week in the Skull Caverns, your entire Farm isn't row upon row of meticulously cultivated Trees, etc.). The Statue of Blessings you get from Farming Mastery has some great general buffs, most of which are more useful a little earlier on in the game (friendship-related, making fishing easier, luck, speed, and energy boosts) while the other masteries have benefits more specific to the skill they come from. If not Farming, I'd pick Mining. I could always use more Iridium!

I usually do farming first, because I love the iridium scythe. You could also do combat and then mining if you're using skull caverns for xp.

I usually go with Farming first because the iridium scythe makes daily farm work so much faster. After that, I pick whichever skill I have been using most on that save.

I would do farming because the scythe is great for harvesting crops, the golden crackers will help you get more animal products which means more money and the statue will give you a range of blessings that help with combat, friendship, fishing, luck, speed and even giving you money practically for free (if you catch the butterfly).
After this I think it depends on what you tend to do more. If you like fishing go with fishing, if you want the mystic trees (make some good money) or golden mystery boxes go with foraging. For adventures down the mines I would go first with combat mastery to get that trinkets to help with the monsters and then go for the mining mastery for the statue buffs.
Hope this helps.

For me, I’d choose farming. Even before I’d unlocked the Mastery system, I came across the Iridium Scythe on a short-video platform; since I’m usually quite slow at harvesting crops, I fell in love with it the moment I saw it.

I honestly am never sure which one will benefit me the most. I usually do foraging, but i know that there are probably better first options
In terms of easiest to get mastery for, I noticed a lot of players are likely going to get fishing mastery earliest since you are likely fishing a lot early on as a source of income.
