I’ve been thinking this question for sooooo long
Can I plant ancient fruit on Winter 28 so I can harvest earlier?

No, you can't plant them in Winter, but doing so on 1st of spring will work. It takes a season to grow, but with some Speed fertilizer you can have at least two seasons of crops until Fall.

Unless you have the green house unlocked, then no. Powdermelons are the only thing you can grow outside in the Winter. (I appreciate that ConcernedApe gave us something to grow in Winter if we don't have the greenhouse unlocked).

Adding to what @NotSoSnarky said, you can also use the farming space on ginger island to grow them during any season.

While your Ancient Fruit question has been answered, I couldn't help wondering if that was really a colloquial spelling of "Grass Starter", which should absolutely be planted on Winter 28 with decent spacing for my favorite not-so-secret easter egg of the game.
