1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Once again, the Desert Festival threw farmchore order into chaos. Especially when a meteor struck the farm before the last day of it. In the middle of my ancient fruit vines. Not acceptable. Remove, replant, and this time use hyper speed gro on them.

Realized I could calculate the output of the statue of endless fortune much better by using the wiki than from in the game, after being almost through a second 10-day session. The first one got spoiled by buying more statues mid-session. Each statue seems worth a little more than 3 crystalariums, not counting the value from cracking the omni geodes you get from them. But such a "machine" park isn't as easy to scale up. It would give me something to do with the money I get from my end-of-year sales though.

Finished up Summer today. So I'm half way done.

Stats so far: Spring 88,337 Diamonds (avg 3154 per day)
Summer 91,451 Diamonds (avg 3266 per day)

That's the good news. The bad news is that I neglected to put Hay in my Silo twice this Summer. So, added to the one time in Spring, I lost out on more money already than a Golden Clock costs.

That's it. I just needed to share my progress. Collecting Diamonds for hour after hour is getting SO old xD

Finished Year 4 with everything but the water obelisk. Got that in the first week of Spring 5, so I just watched my 7th perfection parade.
I'm still working on this farm, though. I want to get the community upgrades and buy a return sceptre before I can truly call it "complete".

Robin is currently building Pam's house.

I'm thinking of revisiting my other saves to clean them up a little before I start on my last one (for now, until 1.7 gives us a new farm type).

I can imagine the grind is wearing you down.

*does math* You earned 2.335 million more from the diamonds in Summer, and lost out on approximately 3.5 million more in eggs, compared to Spring. Ouch. Not a good tradeoff.

Abigail complained that she hated to dance at the flower dance, and that "mom makes me do it". As if I would let her dance with my guy!!

So Abigail was glad to get out of the ordeal, but poor Sebby had to stand up in that stupid blue jumpsuit...

Didn't quite get the right shade of white clothing, but at least I didn't stuck out as much as last year, when I had baggy pants, suspenders and a deluxe pirate hat...

You could run those clothes a few rounds with garlic in the sewing machine until they're bride shirt white. To me it seems like the girls are wearing their bridal outfits minus the veil.

I just was at the Flower Dance too, dancing with my wife Abigail. Of course I was standing out in regal mantle and matching purple trousers... Too bad I didn't remember to dye the second pair of tight pants purple before the dance, or I'd at least matched the guys that way.

And I have to say that the game's mechanic of exhaustion is rather accurate, having run into it irl today. Went weeding an invasive species and then had to walk back home slowly, my energy meter running on empty...

Hit farming 9, thats HUGE. Unlocks the seedmaker. Spent the morning turning all the crops that seemed worth it into seeds. Harvested crops that were ready and replaced them with ancient fruit and carrots. Spent some time talking to villagers, Willy acknowledged my efforts at raising crabs and gave me a pearl. Next day emptied the pond and threw in a lava eel. Also more time spent around seedmakers, mainly processing rice. I've planted so much of it, now I definitely won't forget. In the evening I fished at the farm pond to get some trash for community cleanup quest, caught a surprising amount of fish. I'd forgotten you can hook them at all but even then, there was so much. All normal quality tho, not a good spot for that. Finished around midnight and wouldn't have made it to the railroad and back if not the help from 2 joja colas that I caught. At least its useful somewhere else other than Qi's prismatic grange.

Just before Spring ended, the witch dropped off a void egg in the only coop that isn't filled to capacity even though the last egg was incubating. Reached Summer and planted red cabbage in my seasonal sprinkler.

Still only two stacks traded out of my stack chest, but working my way towards the next.

I mean the farmer stands out anyway with their epic dance moves so might as well match that with the clothing...
Indeed! I often go all-out totally different, this time I made a special fancified purple dress just for the occasion . Wouldn't it be fun if the farmer's dancing actually improved after a certain number of times at the festival?

Report on my outdoor slimes - having the two colors in separate pens was actually becoming detrimental to maintaining a good population (because they kept falling in love across the fence, and enough slimes escape that their numbers were falling). So I broke down the fence between, and now I've got a plethora of colors! All these came from an initial population of plain red and blue slimes. Now I've got "purple", lavender, gray, teal, lime green, even some that are khaki-colored!

Yes, or it could be an event with someone (your spouse? We need to account for Krobus though) where they actually teach you because all that time you just didn't know the moves and improvised.

Which is why I love slime breeding! I just leave a few colours to breed for a while and come back to a much wide range. It's fun.

Maybe, for me it's usually fun enough not to dance like the others do... anyway it seems to be a girls thing, when you play as male you dance like all the boys do.

Didn't quite get the right shade of white clothing,
I never had white clothing for the dance so far, but I tailor myself some pretty dancing outfits, as soon as I have access to Emilys sewing machine and enough cloth to spent, I even tried to make some kind of blue suit for my only male farmer ☺

So, Ferry got to Ginger Island, collected a bunch of walnuts by picking up the easy ones and then plundering the Volcano for iridium. Built the farmhouse, did Birdie's scavenger hunt, liberated Prof. Snail and gave him some bones to play with. I think I want to see if I can get an infinity sword before visiting the caldera.

Only got a few days forward in my save. I've felt a bit too unfocused to prioritize between a wide range of chores, so I turned to an old HM game where I just need some mindless grinding that can be done one-handed while reading a book.

Realized the farm-planted ancient fruit is harvested on Thursdays, same day as the kegs on Ginger Island currently needs to be turned over to a new cycle. Good to have a reminder.
Then I ended up 2 am fainting on a fruitless search for radioactive ore in the dangerous mine. Oops. Decided my mental faculties aren't up for it today.

Turns out that it was easier than I thought to sort out my standard farm. I did keep a lot of unnecessary filled chests, but I streamlined them better. There just wasn't anything interesting to do there, so I played it up to Spring 1 of Year 8 and left it there. Seems like a nice place to start if I want to pick it up again.

Moved on to my riverlands farm, where it's fall now. Decided to swap out the birchwood bedroom with pink roses wallpaper for something less frilly. I finally bought the bed that Willy sells - which also meant swapping dressers, so I spent a ridiculous amount of time getting all my dresser items moved over.

I'll probably spend a ridiculous amount of time moving stuff between chests as well. It's a much harder farm to properly lay out and it's very disjointed. So far most of what I've done is move around some furniture and sell a ton of gift items that I don't need, since I do have max hearts with everyone and have a chest full of rabbit's feet and diamonds in case the gifting Qi quest comes up.
