1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Won the fair, and I really should get around to redeem my tickets. I've got 4 of them now. Remembered to take a picture of the farm for my progress thread around the same time. Built a 4th silo. Has enough of a surplus of ancient fruit that I've started using that as a "filler" when there's not enough of the regular stuff for my preserve jars. I know it should be the other way around to focus on profit, but I see ancient fruit as a "kegs first, jar later" crop.

Now I can't avoid selling full stacks. Stack chest is full. :defeated: Now, lower value stacks gets sold to make space for higher value stacks, resulting in my earnings going up by about 3 million this month after reaching that point.

ETA: And I'm at the day of Spirit's Eve Festival.

Today I opened the walnut room. One of my first quests was "Qi's Kindness", which is really helping me get up my hearts with the villagers. Usually by the time I'm at this point in the game I'm friends with most of them, but this time around I still have a LOT of hearts to win, so that quest is finally actually useful.

Also, I got another stone owl. My fourth for this farm. I usually get at least four, except - ironically - the one time I named my farm "Dark Owl Farm". I only got one that time, and not until halfway year 4.

Also, Emily wants to adopt another baby.

Spent a few days going down from level 80 in the mines to work on my combat&mining skills that are lagging behind. Also pretty close to finishing the erradication goal for void spirits for one of my favourite rings. Took a break from the mines to fish up 10 albacores for Demetrius, which went smoother than ever. Did it in one evening, put the first one in the bait maker, got 9 bait and caught the rest without it failing a single time. Also in a treasure chest got two pieces of iridium ore, the last item I needed for the boiler room. Nice.

10 albacores? That's next level! Demetrius can be so demanding at times.

Today I finally found the skeleton hand. I wish I'd kept better notes of my previous games - I have a feeling that hand is always one of the last items to show up for me.

Also, Emily & I had our second baby. Emily insists he has my hair - I'm not sure she understands how adoption works... LOL!!

Fifth fish pond built in the farm quarry, and had a good luck day when I threw in the fish, so I went to Ginger Island with five treasure totems after doing the farm chores. Was surprised at getting 2 crackers with those. One for the fish pond, and one for a chicken tomorrow. Ice festival coming up.

Haven't played all that many days, because I got lured away by an old game... to Gameboy Color...

You can also go the other way and pet chickens to level up farming skill.

Oooh! Thanks. Will incorporate that once I have some money.

This past weekend I just played an old save and was playing around with decorating for the first time. You can see a little of it in my last post, with the bookcase, chair, and mounted sword. Usually I don't bother: if it wasn't for my wives decorating the home in various saves, they'd have no decor at all, just room after room of kegs. But I've made a little flower garden around grandpa's tomb, and a bench or two to sit on. Granted, they won't be in bloom when he visits me, but it's still nice to go up there and look. That's also where an orchard is, so it's not just an aimless walk.

I actually got lost somehow in that MP game I'm in, it's so much fun doing things together and we made good progress so far. Got an upgraded coop already with lots of ducks and the quarry is reopened, too. We've been working on the mine-carts, all is left is a firequartz now, but this item plays hard to get rn. But the income is steadied now, so we don't have to care of money that much. Items still need some upgrades to clear out the farm a little more and make space for the bunny coop ☺ Thanks a lot, partner, for the good times, we're making a great team ☺

I managed to kill all the pepper rexes needed for the monster eradication goal. I haven't even done all the rock crabs yet, I never had them done this early. I knew I killed some - one rex floor and a few stray ones on the lower levels.
So today I happened to find a pepper rex floor on level 9, with at least six. So after I killed them all I decided to go back up and try again instead of going further down. Just to get that goal out of the way.
So I went out, went back in, and killed another 7. Then the level was a mummy level, so no rexes, but the dive after that the floor had another 5, and apparently I only needed 4. So glad to be done with them!! I never had a floor with so many before, and it surprised me that both repeats were pretty big, too. Sometimes dino floors have one or two and a million green flies...

I still need to kill serpents, rock crabs, slimes and mummies. And those irritating flame spirits on GI. I did find a holy blade, so the mummies shouldn't be too difficult.

Good luck for your monster hunting further on 🤞🏻

For me it's usually the pepper rex that's done last. Rock crabs done fairly early, because of the crabshell ring. On the last 40 floors of the mine, I just go after any red rocks with 2 peaks when I hunt void spirits.

I gave Jodi a Sap at the Feast of the Winter Star (not interested in befriending her yet ), and was rewarded with a meteorite when I went to bed. Not bad RNG.

I also discovered that Stardew Valley Expanded adds an extra tier to coops and barns... I made a bunch of tappers to get material for those upgrades, but I'll also need to get a LOT more money. Animal Bundle will have to wait... unless of course I keep finding items for it in Marnie's trash can (also from SVE).

I had the absolute worst luck with remixed Community Center bundles... Animal, Brewer's, Master Fisher's, Enchanter's, Home Cook's AND Chef's.
For the fish, my plan is to simply find a Scorpion Carp or an Octopus in someone's trash can. Blobfish I already have, as it's the only easy one in the bundle.

(Yeah yeah, there's some compatibility issue breaking the tree. Not worth trying to figure out and fix.)

The witch event happened on my farm but sadly I couldn't tell what it did to my chicken coop because I haven't picked up the eggs for one or two days when I went to the skull caverns... I fenced in my crops area and finally got some iridium quality wine I am waiting to sell... The Desert Festival has started and I got strawberry seeds from Maru. I accidentally answered the trash cans question from the scholar wrong so I guess I have to wait. I finally decided to pick up the eggs from my chickens which are almost as tall as me but ran out of inventory space.

Skipped out on the Ice Festival, allowing Willy to win. Too many chores on the farm that day. Took on another Extended Family, and caught 4 more Legend II, probably destined for the smokers. Managed to squeeze in a 7th fish pond on the farm quarry, only possible because I can distance collect on the mobile. Now I should be getting enough on average to always be able to fill the 80 preserve jars in the mushroom/roe shed. Put down some blue grass starters in early preparation for Spring.

Didn't bother with SquidFest either.
The stack chest has gotten some replacements, but it'll take a while before I manage to replace all the gold quality mayo with better stuff. I'm having fun with seeing how its contents change over time.

Today in my game I found Shane on the edge of the cliff and dragged him to Harvey's clinic.

And then I realised it was Jas' birthday, so I headed over to the ranch to give her a present.
First thing Jas asked was "Is Shane going to be all right?" Broke my heart a little. Also got me mad at Shane - how dare he try to jump of a cliff on his goddaughter's birthday!!!

(And yes, I realise that it's a coincidence that I got this cutscene on that day... But still...)

Today my second child outgrew the crib.

Also, I found the ostrich egg journal scrap. So now I need two more walnuts.
I still haven't found that mummified bat, no matter how often I go to the volcano. However, I did manage to get to the top and open the shortcut, so that's a bonus.

The second walnut I need is in a chest. I would totally pay the Joja parrot for it, but I need the bat anyway, for the incubator recipe. If I get the bat before I find that rare chest, I will probably give up and pay the parrot. Let Morris have a small bonus... LOL!!

I tucked my ostrich egg away safely in a remote unused chest. I'm terrified I'll use it to cook if I'm not careful.

I'm hoping to complete Qi's crop challenge and get those 100 gems, so I can buy most of the stuff I need from Qi and be done with him. I got it for 21 days, which should be doable. I have about 450 fruits planted at the moment and already shipped 80, so if my calculations aren't off, I should make it.
(Edit: I miscalculated - I'm off by THREE. They were not ready in time - needed just one more day, but Mr. Qi doesn't care about that. Sigh!!! So annoying.)

It did mess with my other money-making plans for the summer. So much prime farming space taken up by those stupid qi faces. And nothing to show for it because 3 fruits had the wrong fertilizer, apparently...

Reached year 8 and did math. Counting the stuff in my stacks chest and what I've officially earned, I've got an average of about 25 million per year for the first 7 years.

All 25 gold chickens have been given crackers. Currently seems like I've got too many fish ponds and too few preserve jars for them. Will see how it goes in the next month or two. Might end up taking a bunch over to the pickles shed and do something about the surplus.
