Villagers using nicknames for the player

The basic idea I have in my head is that you have the option to set a nickname while creating your character and once you reach a certain number of hearts with a villager, they might ask to use the nickname (similar to when your spouse asks for a child) and if you say yes, they will begin to call you by that nickname. This could extend to your spouse/partner too, you could have a nickname that only your spouse uses. Just an idea, might be a little out there

I really like this! I think having something like Name: Nicholas Nickname: Nick or something along those lines would be really cool.

Yes that is a very good idea, i just wouldn't know what to use as a nickname. I already have trouble coming up with farm names and use Nonak or Nony as my name on every save.
Oh as I was typing I got an idea to use Nokun on the next farm. Its kind of a weird one tho

Awwww!! Like in Animal Crossing!!! That would be so cute. I'd make my nickname something stupid, like McWiggles or something.
