Cabin Dresser Inventory

The 1.5 update made the immovable dressers in the cabins disappear, but what about inventory in those dressers? I had important stuff in there and now it is... gone forever? or was it moved to a place I haven't checked yet?

It's not there, at least in my case. I also can't find the things from the dresser anywhere.

It kinda bums me out that they removed the dressers, it was nice having an extra set of tools early on for tool upgrade days. Oh well, what can you do?

I think what Sigrah is referring to is that in 1.4, even if you were playing alone, you could add a cabin and get a nearly-free extra set of tools which you could use while upgrading your main set of tools. Really convenient if you were trying to push the mines quickly or if you didn't want to wait for a rain day to upgrade the watering can, for example.

I'm not sure how that works now in 1.5? I mean, I assume that if you add a cabin to let a new player join your farm, they have to get a set of tools somehow? But I haven't tried it yet.

Yes, that's exactly what I was referring to. I can only assume that in 1.5, players joining the host in multiplayer games now start with them in their inventory, because I can't find them stored in the cabins anywhere.

Didn't know he had one! Thanks, will try that, but I want to know who in the valley found a few hundred ancient fruit seeds & a few thousand pomegranates and didn't know they were mine. Really? Do they just pretend to like me so I'll bring them stuff?

Yeah, and later on it was nice to have a second set of tools to leave in chests in strategic locations.

Yeah. And in my first new game of 1.5, I learned that if Leah runs over your chest in cindersap, all the stuff that was inside will end up on the ground so you can pick it up. At least that's what happened to me when I went back for my chest on Spring 4, Year 1 after catching catfish the day before.

Yeah that was patched in a while ago. Before 1.5.

Kinda surprised that there aren't more people moaning about the loss of inventory. I love cabins as cheap buildings, even though they're small and have that stupid package in the middle!

Anything you had in the dressers that disappeared is gone. In my most recent save file I was using one cabin for jam & seed production, so there were a few thousand pomegranates, hundreds of gold ancient fruit and hundreds of ancient fruit seeds. Can't even remember what was in there in other save files, but I can't be the only one who used it like a chest, and lost everything that was in it. Definitely not in the Lost & Found.
