What is a fast way to get fishing level from 8 to 10?

If it's the fishing "game" you hate, crab pots give XP, and you can often craft bunches of them and fill up an area for a while. Between that and buying a few higher-end fish to fill fish ponds, you should find yourself set in time. This likely takes longer than just fishing but it lets you avoid the minigame thing.

I don’t hate the “game” I just don’t use fishing much, I do it for the completionist stuff like legendary fish and maxing out stats but I’d just rather farm or go into skull caverns. But I’ll try the fish ponds.

Fish ponds crab pots and some consistent fishing every day will do the trick! No need to spend all day fishing.

Getting a perfect catch multiplies the EXP you receive by 2.4, so I would mainly aim for that. You can eat food with fishing buffs to make perfect catches easier to get.

Perfect catches are really easy to get for normal fish.

6 staff and 2 helpers to be exact.

Usually the harder the fish the higher the xp, so things like scorpion carp, pufferfish, catfish, super cucumber etc.
I think almost every area has at least one "special" fish. I'd say just fish wherever you want. I was able to reach level 10 before my first summer on a couple saves

I can never catch pufferfish. Way too hard for me.
