Is this a bug? [MINES]

Hello so I was going down the mines and I came across this situation... shouldnt this not ever happen?

Was I very unlucky or is this a bug?

There wasnt anyway to pass cross this big rock, I destroyed all rocks before it and waited for any flying bugs to come chase me but unlucky me I had to leave the mines for that day.

How often did you hit it? It requires a lot of hits with the basic pickaxe, but it should break.
I think 12 or 15, but I'm not sure.

Wait what? You can break a big rock with the basic pick??????

I always thought you can not until you upgrade it, WTF im minblown right now

On your farm you can't, but in the mines it works.

It's a bit confusing because they look alike and if you try on your farm, you'll get the message that you can't break it.
