How do you get who to eat? If you're asking about yourself, you don't need to eat food in the game, but doing so will restore health and energy. You can eat crops that you grow, and the Saloon in town sells some food. Later in the game you'll be able to upgrade your house and get a kitchen, which will allow you to cook food.
In the beginning you just have to walk everywhere. Food that gives +speed will help you get around faster, as will buying a horse.
There's a room in the community center that unlocks the mine carts, which will get you between the bus stop, mines, and town (and quarry after you unlock that).
There are also warp totems that you can craft or find in Skull Cavern (desert, after you unlock the bus).
Once you're friends with the wizard, you can buy obelisks to transport you to different areas,
and once you've unlocked the sewers there's a return scepter that will bring you home from anywhere.
Basically as you play and finish quests/bundles, you'll have more and more ways to get around quickly.
I play on iPad. To eat, first I need to have an edible item in my backpack, which displays vertically on the left. I select the edible item, like a spring onion or horseradish, by tapping on it. That makes it show in my characters hands. Then I tap directly on my character and a little prompt comes up. It says, Eat spring onion? With a button for yes or no.

The river in town, the sea at the beach and the river and pond in the forest also work, so if you're anywhere near water and notice your can use empty you can just refill it.
at the start of the game u just can run, with autorun, to go to every place, in midgame u can buy horse for more speed and can craft totems to tp to some place, in late game u can build tp towers but too expensive if u dont have a lot of money
