What do you hoard for no reason.

Maybe probably almost certainly everything. Because Farmer Bobbi might want to Tailor something with it or dye something to that particular color. Or, or maybe someone will want it for a Bulletin Board request! Whiiiiiich she's no longer doing... Hm.

Do you think the chest fulla fish is starting to smell a little? It's amazing nothing has spontaneously sprouted from that other chest overflowing with seeds.

175 Snekheads are completely necessary just in case any of the kids breaks something in the Attic Archaeology display.

Farmer Bobbi totally has great plans for 10,000 Blueberries. Big plans. And 3,000 Omni Geodes. Which calls into question why she only has 345 Artifact Troves, yet another example of primo slacking.

It's super important for any visiting Farmers to have a useful layer of protection and you never know when 60 or so will happen to drop by.

The pantry has been frightfully low on mangoes for seasons now but maybe the family can endure the coming Winter, suffering through with apples, peaches and poms.

And really, there's less than half a stack of diamonds, emeralds, and amethyst, with not even 1/3 stack of aquamarines. Bobbi and Emily hang their heads in shame whenever Gunther passes by.

Sooooo:
No just a totally normal farm, completely lacking any prepper-adjacent behaviors like 5 fridges full of foodstuffs and 8 Big Chests for clothes with 1.5 million g spent on mannequins.

You know what I always end up with stacks and stacks of that I never actually need? Sap. I never use a tenth of what I pick up. Sure, I make fertilizer, but I only farm on the mainland for two years before I start filling Ginger Island with deluxe fertilizer that never needs to be replaced. Everything else gets used, sold, or gifted, but after a while I realize I have half a chest of sap and nothing to do with it. I sell a couple stacks here and there but always end up with more.

I too end up unintentionally hoarding sap, often shipping one full stack when I've got about 1.5 stacks. Most of my other hoarding is more intentional, wanting to ship stuff in bigger numbers. I also tend to hold one full set of trinkets in a chest in the house, and another set in the mines, despite only using one or two depending on the situation, and trying to remember to sell the extra.

Is that hoarding though? How do you avoid hoarding sap. Cut a tree, get sap. Kill a slime, get sap. And really, even my fishingest fishiest fishing farmers don't need that many trap bobbers.

Good point. The only way I can think of is to buy all of your wood, and you'd still end up with slime by-products.

But then, I don't deliberately hoard anything other than felt rabbit feet. Other things just pile up if I don't need to sell them for income. You never know when someone might ask for something, so I just build another chest and fill it up.

Literally everything, I'm a hoarder amongst hoarders.

I think I have a few posts about stuff I've collected but some standouts are ~100,000,000-200,000,000 (that's around 3000 -6000 chests) of golden eggs, 2 million lawn flamingoes (very useful I swear), hundreds of thousands of monster drops, 1000s of each gem/mineral, the list only goes on
I don't think any of us can hold a candle to you, lol.
