I've been in contact with concerned ape and I want your ideas so
any good ideas for 1.7 because I want to send your ideas to concerned ape these are mine

and your ideas might not be put in the game, I have zero clue just letting you know that

and hurry up since there is going to be a deadline for ideas. After that I am not accepting any more ideas. the deadline is July 2, 2026

oh by the way you get credit to and please do multiple ideas
I think that having a "rewind" button in the menu, that resets the day to the very start would be cool. The option to restart a day already exists by closing and opening the game, but having a dedicated button would make it more convinient, and for me a button would make restarting the day feel less like cheating

Bathrooms. Add bathrooms to all the NPC houses.
It wouldn't even need to be fully furnished. It could be accomplished by just adding a decorative door with WC written on it to the internal decor of their houses. Possibly with a "I shouldn't go in there" if trying to interact with it.

ive always wanted to know more about life outside of the Valley so I think a little newspaper stand in town would be really cool. it would just be 1 headline with a 1 sentence summary every day but if there was a few hundred options and some 1 time only customs ones to give us a little view into life outside the valley that would be great.

like something along the lines of

(mabye in the winter this one can pop up)
"BREAKING : Ceasefire between the Ferngill Republic and Gotoro Empire"
"The two sides agreed to stop fighting during the Holidays"

or even something like
"Demands for Watermelon Soar !, Prices rise across the republic"
and for that day or week you get 10% more value from selling watermelon.

An overhaul of the tailoring and dyeing system.

Such as better/actual in-game ways to keep track of what was tailored, how to tailor it again, and maybe save designs for either future event wearing, or dressing up mannequins with. Plus, in-game trackers for dyeing strength of items used for it.

Maybe even an achievement for tailored stuff.

Maybe also give eyes to the mannequins to make dressed up ones feel more personal and alive.

And if we happen to dress up in stuff that resembles or fully emulates the NPCs, maybe some dialogue reflecting that.

More questions with conversations when you talk to the towns peeps.

Having an option to have pets follow you like minecraft.

Being able to spend more to clint so he can give me my tools right away

Welp, some things just got confirmed: 2 new marriage candidates and more fleshed out kid activities.

Any bets on who the new bachelor/bachelorettes will be?
Exactly! And that sounds amazing. More info on who will be the two marriage candidates should be revealed on February the 26th, for the 10 years of Stardew Valley release.

Also, ConcernedApe is evaluating if the new farm could be in fact a farm editor where players could create their own farm. Nothing confirmed yet, but looks promising.

When guessing who the new bachelor/bachelorettes will be, first we need to ask if those will be new NPCs or if they are existing villagers that would turn into marriage candidates.

In the same interview, ConcernedApe said that the villagers and their individual story are a big part of SDV success. Therefore, it is not easy to modify them without risking to displease players, unless this is to add more dialogs or lore. Thus, I think that the new marriage candidates would be existing villagers, which leads to the following list:
  • Leo/Jas/Vincent: not possible as they are children
  • Linus: extremely unlikely as he does want to leave his current life style
  • Evelyn/George: I doubt that retired and old people would look like appealing candidates, especially with all the side effect of possibly letting a disable old man alone in his home...
  • Pierre/Caroline/Jodi/Kent/Robin/Demetrius: introducing the breaking of other seemingly happy marriages would be a weird move for a game with such a positive ambiance
  • Lewis: that would raise interesting questions, especially regarding a certain gold statue
  • Marnie: an interesting idea that would lead to a monopoly in animal raising in the valley
  • Marlon: so Gil will finally have to show his skills
  • Sandy: would be interesting but... who would take care of her shop?
  • Clint/Willy/Gus: a regular player request, but what consequence on his blacksmith/fish shop/saloon?
  • Pam: raises questions about more chores for the player at the farm and relation with Penny as daughter-in law while being a bachelorette
  • Wizard: a regular player request with almost endless possibilities...
Am I to pick two amongst those (one female and one male to keep the choices balanced):
- Sandy (if we accept that she won't be present at the Flower Dance Festival until the bus is repaired)
- Clint (so we can finally witness him be happy and gain self confidence)

Yeah, my money is in either Sandy and Clint, or Sandy and the Wizard, unless there will be 2 entirely new NPCs.

Yes, Wizard is the closest alternative to Clint as a possible bachelor.

Two entire new NPCs seem very unlikely to me: that would mean too much background and balance to add for two villagers with the marriage candidate status.

Look at Leo that was added in update 1.5: he's a full villager who can be gifted, has a background and cut scenes, his own homes (and his parrots)... Yet he is very rarely (if never) mentioned in other NPCs' dialogs. Even Linus seems to not be aware of him while Leo spends a lot of his time with him. Leo's dialogs mention Linus, but this is not the other way round.
So imagine with two brand new NPCs who would need enough backstory and interactions to be desirable as marriage candidate...

Now that you mention it, it would be nice to see more Linus dialogue that mentions Leo.

And come to think of it, if our own kids are getting more fleshed out, maybe there will be grow-up-style expansions to Vincent/Jas/Leo's stories?

Guess we'll have to keep our fingers crossed until the 26th...
