1.6 Update What will be your biggest expectation of 1.7

I would love more mechanics for friendship. Birthday gifts are still too dominant. One thing that seems fun, is being able to gain a small bit of friendship if you sell an item that a villager loves. Even if it's just 4 friendship points per normal quality loved item sold, that gives the possibility to for example befriend Harvey and Leah via selling a bunch of wine or befriend Clint, Krobus, Maru and Willy if you sell a bunch of iridium bars.
Finally I won't have to go on a manhunt for Leah!

That would be such a fun addition to the game!

More monster NPCs would be pretty cool. Like sometimes you'd meet a domesticated slime or dino that got lost in the mines, or another friendly shadow person randomly in the mines. Could be fun.
I had an idea a bit back of a zombie guy you could find after you get some key to go farther than the normal bus stop limits, that died in the war Kent was fighting in. For the entire list (obviously I don’t expect all of these, but I hope for a few) of monsters:
A slime that accidentally glued itself to a lamp post and needs the farmer to escape
A cave fly that lives in a little hive, maybe has a similar role to the bear that you give maple syrup to in the secret woods
A duggy that you can pay to tear down a mine level for a week until it respawns, making going down a ladder above that floor like going down two
A rock crab that collects rocks in exchange for money/special items
A bat that lives in a little secret door in your mushroom/fruit cave that needs to be blown up to enter
A stone golem that helps Leah with poses in her artwork in exchange for food/shelter
A dust sprite that bounces around town sometimes leaving coal behind like a train but with no notification that it’s there
A ghost that used to live in the old house the hat mouse lives in now, and that will sell boots instead or something
A skeleton that lives in the quarry that you can pay to go to the museum counting as another artifact that will walk around and spook guests
A metal head that will upgrade clothing to have +1 defense per upgrade, for a price
A shadow brute that is friends with Krobus and lives in the adventurer’s guild as someone who gives you rewards for NOT killing monsters for an amount of mine levels
A squid kid that acts as Gus’s new oven
A mummy who needs various weapons to cut the wrapping paper until free revealing it was Vincent with Jas on top of him all along
A pepper rex that holds dinosaur funerals with fossils
A serpent that works for Joja and flys around delivering packages
A haunted skull that you find at the Night Market that sells bone related decor, weapons, and clothing
A dwarvish sentry that needs help being fixed and becomes Maru’s pet
A false magma cap that you have to find all over the different mines, and at the end gives you a bunch of gold and a prismatic shard
A lava lurk that lives in water instead and helps get fish
A magma sprite that makes barbecue with its flames
A blue squid that gives you ink letting you rename items
A spider that can poison your weapon making it deal damage to an enemy over time
A stick bug that can give you wood to use for building, for a price
Is that all of them?

one idea i've seen people float around that I really like is being able to temp-hire the various villagers to effectively automate various farm tasks. It would scale on friendship level, the more they like you the bigger load they'd be willing to take on, or the more frequently they'd be willing to work, etc. Something more involved than the random token assistance you'll get from a spouse.

I think it'd be fun to see how it potentially changed the meta-thinking around the early game in min-max strategies, etc. especially if certain villagers had certain logical specialties (Shane handling your coop animals or Robin chopping down your tree overgrowth, for instance). Offset by having to pay them, of course...

Maybe unpopular opinion but I would love to see the trash bear used for something other then the quest of cleaning the valley. Maybe give him a shop where we can trade trash for other stuff or maybe make him a roommate of the hat mouse. Because currently I fell like he kind of gets forgotten, I myself after playing so often in my perfection save after watching a youtube video where dusty's dog house was still a box I was like didn't the dog always have a nice house only after did I remember about the trash bear.

First of all, rumors pervade everywhere, we still need to wait for an official announcement by ConcernedAPE.

I think 1.6 is perfect enough but I still look forward to seeing some enhancement of combat system.
It is a little bit rough or crude for me.
I think maybe we can have a boss session or versatile weapons.
We do have a lot of weapons but the only difference I can see is only its numeral value.

And Qi's quests are dull for me.
If you don't feel like decorating your farmhouse, the only thing you can do after achieving perfection is getting more money.
But you know at that moment, money is pointless for us.

If there are some colorful challenges, that will be great to see in 1.7

Last but not least, please release a Switch2 version, thanks. :game:

Comments from Abigail (and possibly others who'd sneaked into the community center) about the most recently completed room in the community center. Sure, we have comments from those that spotted the outdoor effect of those completed rooms, but that's not quite the same. Would be nice to have someone actually acknowledging our efforts.

I'd like it if you could shut down the Island Resort permanently (or for the rest of the season) for maintenance. You go to all that trouble to fix the Community Center and it's like a ghost town but every sunny day those freeloaders...I mean villagers... are at the resort. It's annoying to do on a daily basis and another chore to remember. I just want to fish for stingray for the :stardrop: otherwise I probably wouldn't repair it at all. There's the recipe from Gus but I don't always feel like doing the cooking.

But enough of that. I have 1.5 permanently on an old ipad mini which I will never update. I bought another old ipad mini second hand for 1.6 but I also play on macos. I will probably install the gog 1.5 version I have on another old machine I have. I still like to play 1.5 every now and then to be reminded of a more simpler time.

You can "temporarily" close the resort and then just never open it back up again. It stays closed until you set it to open again.

Right you are. I just checked on an old save file. I always read it as "shut it down tomorrow", the "tomorrow" and "temporarily" parts sort of read as it being a one day thing and I assumed you would have to do it again the day after but it's good that it's until you open it back up again. Makes more sense. Maybe a "closed until further notice" sign could be good then.

That's true, the wording is a little ambiguous and could be clearer. I didn't really figure it out until I checked the next day.

There's a bit of a glitch/conflict where you cannot purchase animals if Marnie is at the resort even if you have the animal catalog, because her default "I'm taking a day off at the resort" allows you to buy supplies but not animals. So I still close the resort every time I need to buy more rabbits.
