Solved [BUG] Dark Talisman disappeared

When I opened the chest in the bug lair the Talisman was in there. I *think* I picked it up but am not sure as I was immediately attacked as soon as the chest closed and fled. Back out in the main sewer I checked my inventory and the Dark Talisman was not there. I went back into the bug lair but the chest was gone. I went to see the wizard just in case the Talisman was just not rendering for some reason, but he didn't trigger the next event in the sequence. So now I'm stuck without a Dark Talisman and no way to complete the wizard's quest. Any ideas on how I can work around this?

I'm playing version 1.4.5 on CentOS 8.2 (Linux), launched through Steam. The only mods installed are SMAPI-3.7.6 and Ui Info Suite-1150-1-9-0.

I think the only option might be to cheat one in. I don't see it as cheating since there was nothing you could do about the talisman though. Did you try resetting the day?

This. Open your menu, then click the tab with your skills and wallet. What you're looking for looks like a little, purple, monster xmas-tree ornament just to the right of the magnifying glass. If it's there, you're good to go.

Ah, right. Thanks. It's been a while since I last played and I was getting the Talisman confused with the Magic Ink.
