Emily and Haley's parents never return "home" because they are spies. Either spies for Ferngill, in which case they've too deeply infiltrated Gotoro and cannot be extracted without exposing the operation, or they're Gotoro spies who've been recalled from Ferngill because their operation in Pelican Town was exposed.

I love this because I have a whole backstory for Farmer Bobbi that her parents are the spies for the Ferngill Republic and will resort to some weapons smuggling for a while whenever the spying gets boring. That's why Dad can afford to send 500g whenever he feels like it.

My other headcanon is that Gil is a title, not a person and Marlon imagines he's next in line for the Throne of Ever Restfulness, Immobility, and General Conservation of Energy in Order to Delay the Inevitable Heat Death of the Universe.

Until a usurper wandered into town one day, unwanted and uninvited and in a general state of disarray. But soon Farmer Bobbi learned the ways of Efficiency, then Idleness, then Sloth, and is now attending her video course on Achieving Your Inner Laziness. When she finds the time and Emily hands her the remote.

That's crazy though. I might have to partially absorb this one.
Now here's my little addition:
The Gil you see... Is the original. He learned from some ancient dwarvish texts that the area of Stardew Valley was keeping the whole world in balance, and that in its current state, the world would collapse. So he studied further, and set up an organization to keep the balance in check, that organization being the Adventurer's Guild. He recruits a band of heroes including Grandpa, Linus, Marlon, Lewis as their leader, Rasmodius, and Willy, hoping one or more of them worried to being Gils. In the end, they all went their separate ways, with only Marlon staying under the Gil's guidance. The title of Gil will now be passed through the AG for all time, lest the world fall to despair.

One of the most interesting ideas I've had was for an in-world reason for the valley being stuck in time (instead of it just being for the reason of simplicity of game development).

It's that the whole town is suspended before death in a sort of bubble following a disaster, either radioactive mines washout, explosion, or war, the idea stemming from a really fascinating movie I watched called Maboroshi where a whole town is stuck in time following a disaster, causing everyone and everything inside to live a time-trapped existence.

I thought of this head cannon while at school.
Maru definitely watches Kaiju movies and animes because she finds it interesting how the robots are made. she also secretly keeps a sketchbook of all her favorite mechs from said animes and writes very detailed notes on their designs.

That would make perfect sense, with the war on the Gotoro Empire, and the Gil theory. The valley certainly has the magic to do so.
Oh, and another headcannon I have is that Mr. Qi is a game developer, experiencing his creation from the inside.

Oh, this thread absolutely unleashes my thoughts on Stardew Valley.

I think Marlon, Linus, Mr. Qi, and the wizard all know each other. They might not all be friends, but I think they'd know each other. Then!- to add onto this idea, I don't think Mr. Qi and the wizard would like each other. Mr. Q is chaotic and likes to mess around, and the wizard, I feel, enjoys perpetuating normalcy to the non-mundane, and we all know the most disgusting thing to Mr. Qi is "normalcy." They might not be sworn enemies, but I could see them butting heads.

I feel like Willy and Linus would be good friends. Willy has lived an unconventional life, mostly about fishermen's stuff and living on a boat, hinted at in dialogue. I think he'd relate to Linus and his lifestyle; they'd just be a pair of mellow bros.

I think Leah has sketched basically everyone in town, some more than others, maybe, but I think she's always using the people she sees as inspo and figure drawing practice.

I could add more if my brain wasn't fried lol-

With how small the town is I'm pretty sure Leah definitely has. She sketches the farmer more after you get hearts with her and date her but she definitely sketches the others too. Willy and Linus are incredibly compatible lol Willy isn't a snob by any means. I can see Marlon Mr Qi and Linus along with the wizard knowing each other. Marlon lives in the guild where Linus also camps nearby. Mr Qi probably comes down to the guild in a while and Linus might meet him that way. I agree with you that Mr Qi and the wizard won't get at each other's throats but definitely won't have a friendship.

Gunther is money hungry so he stole the previous artifacts of the museum and sold them but lied that the previous curator took everything with him. I don't know why but just looking at the man I think he got serious money. Also that Penny beats the **** out a teddy bear at home to let out the frustration of dealing with kids all day and also her mom. And she's cute aggressive so she actually wants to yeet the kids into the atmosphere but actually puts up a act. I know these are crack pot but you didn't say only logical ones.

Linus and Razzy (wizard) definitely know each other. You see them together at one of the festivals. And I think that Razzy doesn't mind Mr. Qi, as both of them have good intentions: difference between lawful good and chaotic good. But yes, they certainly would bicker about how to go about certain tasks.
Or the Valley is like one big Truman Show with Mr. Qi being Christoph and the Farmer being Truman 🤷
Only problem is, Qi let us in on the act. He would never do that if we played an important role in not knowing. But we had accomplished enough and learned enough to have WI let us in on his secrets. No, SV isn't a simulation, but Qi runs it all the less.

Well, I meant kind of... And there are hints that Qi and Grandpa have known each other, so why shouldn't he let you in? You probably don't know about a time stuck or so... 🤷

You have a point, though to repeat myself, Stardew Valley is real, in the sense that it's not artificial. Qi might have made it, he might just run it, but either way, he lets things play out without his interference. In the end, only ConcernedApe knows. 🤷

Watched a video before(Not my headcanon, I don't have headcanons for SDV but I thought the video's theory rather interesting).
You can hear the sound of the brakes before Robin's cutscene(The one where the player moves in), also if you look carefully enough, one of the fences in the bus stop was mended. So the valley's probably just a hallucination, and the player whent through a car crash

I just realized that would mean that Maru is essentially just human Alphys.
