I'm curious to see which game mechanic folks within the community detest, or in a sense, find the least amount of fun. If you have the option to NOT partake in the activity, you will take that opportunity to avoid it. Explain why you do not like such mechanic in the game.

To limit the scope and not overpopulate the list, I'll be asking in terms of core game mechanics. Stuff that you do have to do at some point... in theory. If you feel a choice is missing, feel free to state that.

To start, I'll throw my opinion in: Quests. There is little incentive for me to do quests in the game. I feel it lacks variety (Mainly the daily quests in that note), and outside of main story quests, it doesn't interest me that much.

P.S: Please note these are opinions. Nothing should be taken to heart here.

I'm not fond of fishing to the point of installing mods to just soldier my way through it to complete community center, etc.

I'ms not a huge fan of combat, it's a little stressful when I'm overwhelmed with slime or other monsters and when that happens, I don't like going into the mines, and mine for the stuff I need for the community center.

This is an interesting thing to me, as I know a fair amount of people who think Combat can be stressful and because of it they try to avoid the mines. But the mines has a large amount of resources that can help with the farm and progress you through the game.

What makes the mines stressful to you? Is it the punishment you incur when you feint?

That and also when I'm trying to escape, the slimes are hitting me non stop with their special move or something like that, it gest really annoying when I have to retrace my steps in the mine. :(
I don't like it.

Edit: if I see a floor that is over run, I will usually not go deeper anymore unless I have bombs, so.
I usually try to build stairs for the mines to get what I need for my CCor my farm.

I'm with you when it comes to questing. I don't hate it per se and I'll do any I think I can but I feel like it's underdeveloped and could be used for more. Like it could be a fun and interesting way to get more cutscenes and info about a character (if its a quest like finding Robin's ax) but instead it's just a way to get more money and heart points.

I agree, it took me forever to reach the bottom of the mines and now I avoid them as much as possible.

Cooking is the only mechanic in the game I earnestly dislike. If I had my way, Cooking would be a skill, there would be a mini-game involved, and we'd be able to cook at campfires, meaning we'd be able to cook earlier in the game when the buffs would be more impactful.

I actually never cooked, so it never bothered me. xD

EATING IN THE SKULL CAVERN. ffs ;-;

I despise the fact that the message bubble asking if you want to exit the skull cavern, and the message bubble asking you if you want to eat this piece of cheese, are the same colour.

I cannot even begin to talk about the amount of times me and my SO have rage quit because we accidentally exited in the middle of a great run. Argh lol.

I really dislike Fishing, and I'm not even bad at it. It's not so much about the Fishing Minigame, as you can catch all Fish after a few tries ( highest for me is 9 for Glacierfish ). It's just really troublesome how some Fish are only available at certain times, in certain weather conditions, in certain seasons, at particular locations. So rage-inducing when it's the last day of Summer and you miss the window to catch Pufferfish.

I voted events, not because I hate them, but because I see them as an area that needs the most improvement. The flower dance and moonlight jellies are boring to me but have the potential the most romantic and meaningful. There are alot of great events, but the fact that some of them only happen once are a bummer (specifically one of sebastians).

I have to pick decorating. I guess I'm just more into function over form. I think I love everything in the game but that. I decorate a bit because home should be a nice place to return to, especially after being thrashed in the mines, but then I'm finished. And I'm not even tempted by all the various hats and clothes. When I think about it, that's how I am in real life as well.
