Will Patch v1.5 be Save Game compatible?

I'm not sure what you mean by "will it be save game compatible". Do you mean to ask if our saves from earlier versions, like our 1.4 saves, will be compatible with 1.5? If so, yes.

I don't know, but I always start a new game when big updates are released.

That's exactly it. "Save Game Compatible" is just a technical term we use for "Do I need to start a new game?".

You (probably) won't need to start a new game. The only time I could see a new save being required is if you would want to switch farm types or a new farm type/layout is added. All of the 1.14 content was added without the need for a new save so I imagine the 1.15 update will be the same

CA historically writes updates in a way that old save files get updated to be playable on new versions on load.

You wont be able to use 1.5 save files on older versions.

This is good, especially because I'm on my first playthru and I'm really starting to get into the meat of the game.

Yeah, you'll definitely be able to play your first save with the 1.5 additions! There have been some really huge updates that work for every save file so it won't be different here. If it were, I think CA would've given us a heads up about it
