So I wanna know why PC players got the option to add more people to their farm but console players didn’t? I would like to have more of my friends to join instead of us all playing in separate game mode especially if it’s just one person and they’re being left out.
PC has always had the ability for more players with a simple edit of the game file (a single very easily searchable setting that there was an official guide to even), it's just been a matter of implementing proper support for the higher number of players, something 1.6 did for PC.
As for why it hasn't been implemented on console is honestly unknowable, some platforms such as the original switch would certainly struggle, but most of the consoles (especially the aforementioned switch) have been developed pretty separately, so it could be down to CA maybe thinking that it's not worth the risk with performance (which has caused certain other things like the item ID's to be removed entirely from all consoles when they had performance issues before).
